UW's QB will forego his senior year to enter the NFL draft. Projected to be the 4th QB taken. Does that make Sirmon the presumptive #1 next year or Dylan Morris, who redshirted this year? Whoever it is, they won't have much more experience than WSU's quarterback next season.

I hope Sirmon is the best they’ve got. They are in trouble at QB if that’s the case.

Wouldn’t shock me if they brought in Costello or another transfer.

Lucky for UW, they have a guy who can recruit like Lake. A quality GT would not be surprising at all.

Recruiting QB hasn’t been a problem. They haven’t been able to develop them.

Sirmon was never gonna be a good pac 12 QB though. Poor mans Jake Locker.

Transfer withstanding my guess is Morris will be the guy and Sirmon will enter portal after spring ball again.

Yea I know Willie Taggart was a great “cruiter”. It fell apart pretty fast. Of course jimmy lake is a big step up from Peterson.

From a tired and or burned out Peterson he could be. You never know how internal promotions from coordinator to head coach are going to work out but I wouldn't dismiss Lake. I don't really understand the constant comparison to Taggart either.

Dogs lose there HC. OC. TE coach. Starting QB. Mediocre at best.
Dogs are so delusional, they will tell you these departures are the best possible outcomes.

Lake > CP. hah
Incoming QB > Eason. No way.
But they don’t see it. This is the same fan base that was talking CFP at the start of the year Then came up with every excuse under the sun as to why it didn’t happen.

Absolute rude awakening coming

the douchebag factor for jimmy lake is off the charts

I may have to start accumulating passwords for their forum

35th ranked defense with their strength of schedule ? 431 yards to Colorado ?

I’m not seeing it

remember how much of an upgrade Eason was from Browning? Me either.

The tricky part with promotions from within like this, is Lake now has less time to focus on the D. Maybe they don't miss a beat with Kwiatkowski. Certainly wouldn't be the only time a coordinator takes over and does fine or even better, but losing a mind like Petersen is no small loss.

But the better question is why is Taggart the comparison ? Taggart had head coaching experience .
I don't understand the Taggart comparison but I don't expect much insight coming on the why. Lambright, Gilby, Helfrich all would be better comparisons to make IMO. Cristobal if you want someone more recent.

Both Taggert and Cristobal had prior Head Coaching experience so neither of those are valid comparisons.

UW is entering uncharted territory whether they realize it or not.

As for the Eason deal , really now do not understand why he even transferred from Georgia. He sits on his ass one season at UW and plays one season and gone. His draft status would be the same or probably better if he just would of stayed at Georgia and backed up Fromm last season and jumped. Can really make the case that this was a lose/lose situation for both him and UW.

UW probably could have gone 7-5 with a Freshman QB and gotten a year of development out of it. Really looks like UW got screwed in the whole deal and Eason did not get much out of it either.

How in God's name any Cougar can talk about SOS w. a straight face is beyond me.

Ya'll played a non-conference schedule where your opponents finished 8-28. What in the **** are you on about UW's SOS?

Also, why do you keep pointing to that Colorado game like it means anything? You've brought it up 40 times now... did you miss them completely shutting down the air raid again? In case you missed it, the Cougs only scored 13 points in the Apple Cup. How about them holding BSU to 7 points and 250 yards? Boise was averaging 35 a game... You do realize the Huskies held Oregon St. to 7 and the Cougs allowed that same offense to score 53 points?

But no... keep pointing to CU like a total dumb ****.

I'll be the first to admit that the Huskies didn't have their best year on defense. But they still finished 3rd in the Pac 12 in total D, are replacing the 2 worst linebackers in the history of the program, and are returning almost all their good starters.

I mean seriously, who the hell reads anything this moron has to say and then feels like it's worthy of a like? Royhobbs is an actual dumb ass...

And to the people saying UW fans are delusional for thinking this team was going to achieve more, there were people on this board predicting an undefeated, 1, or 2 loss season for the Cougs... ya'll had to play 2 of the worst teams in the country just to become bowl eligible... where do you get off?

God damn, you call Husky fans delusional... look in a friggin' mirror. You've lost to them 7 years in a row.

Dear Diary,

Does any of this crap actually make you guys feel good about the Cougars? I asked you this last year.

Instead of lying to yourselves about UW, how about you just be real for a change and look at your own program for what it is... mediocre at best and utterly dismantled by UW every year.

If UW is this trash program like you guys keep saying, why do the Cougs keep getting trampled on?

It's almost as if we can have opinions about another program that are independent of the opinions of our own.

UW is not a trash program, it is just not as elite as its community college fans think it is.

Just know this. If the Cougs didn't have the great melt down vs. UCLA, our records would have been the same after the Apple Cup Loss..... HA HA HA

Hence why a quality grad transfer would be big. Lake will have a better shot at bringing in a talented QB than would Petersens anemic O with Hamden.

Eason going pro is a disaster for him and actually a good thing for UW. I was looking forward to one more year of Eason as a Coug fan. They may have a low season next year breaking in new people, but him sticking around is one more year of having the car in park.

The kid was a wrecking ball... in the Lake Stevens School District. He couldn't hack the next level in the SEC and he couldn't hack the PAC. Now he's auditioning for the show. He is like a guy who aced pre-med, failed medical school and certification, and now he's applying for a job as a brain surgeon.

Barring injuries, he will never see a meaningful snap in the NFL. Hope he got a real degree.

I predicted 12-0. Show me the murderers row of teams on the WSU schedule. Hell, show me the murderers row of teams on ANY PAC 12 teams schedule.

This was the most underachieving WSU team since 2005.

Wherever he goes they better invest in an O-line. He has 0 ability to move laterally... and it means he can't avoid sacks. He's got no wiggle. That's not a recipe for surviving in the NFL.

He'll benefit from having professional pass catchers to throw to... Baccellia and Fuller are horrific... stone for hands, short, slow... but yeah, Eason's game is full of holes.

The problem for UW is feeling like they wasted a year... it was a down year that they could have started Sirmon or Morris building to 2020 instead of starting Eason just to finish 8-5. Now they have to start one of these guys who have never really played... most are hoping for Sirmon because odds are he'll play for just 2 years and then it will be Sam Huard's team.

So I'm not really sure how much it actually hurts or helps. The prayer in Husky land is that Sirmon lives up to his rating coming out of HS.
