but the loss tonight is on him and his sloppy and irresponsible play. The turnovers down the stretch - yes, Franks had a couple - were absolute killers.

The early fouls didn’t help him get in the flow. Turnovers in general were a huge issue in the 2nd half many of which were just bad decisions.

He’s still a freshman, and that’s the toughest defense to navigate in the conference. Cougs could have easily won by 10+ for the third straight game. They are getting better and believing they can win. Yes, gut wrenching loss, but the last three games have been more fun to watch than Coug BBall has in years.

I agree this is much more fun to watch.

Cannon was realy struggling with his jumper until last night. Not surprising he found something. Anyone with his stroke from the line has to become a decent shooter

His defense was also good. Thing about JC's is that year 2 is always a lot better.

Skaggs also came in as a JC Soph. He still has one more year to sit on the bench. Maybe he transfers...
He hasn’t played a minute in at least 3 games. I think he will see the writing on the wall and transfer for his last year. He can shoot and in the right place could fill that role. With Chance Moore also coming in where are the minutes coming from here?

I don’t expect Elleby to finish out his career in Pullman.

No insider info - just the trend of players moving on to winning programs. AAU mentality. They’ll be some attrition of those who came out of high school with more stores which them opens up room at the table for guys like Elleby who came in under appreciated but grew beyond his initial star ranking.

Just the way of the world these days.

I’d agree but I read something on Brand X that both Rainer Beach and Garfield tried to recruit him in HS but he chose to stick with his boys at Cleveland so he may be a bit of a throwback. Hope he stays.

Ellerby to the dismay of some coufg"fans"will most probably finish out his collegiate career in Pullman That is an observation and opinion. Some fans said that Ellerby was the cougs best recruit but that he would be the 3rd or 4th best recruit on all other PAC 12 teams. Ellerby may well be the PAC s frosh of the year. Cannon is looking good and Kunc has a a lot of talent The newly recruited players give the cougs a good chance to have a winning record next year. That is a stark contrast to some observations hopefully predicting gloom and doom on the basketball program

I thought he had checked out during the Mountain trip. He even said in a recent article he started to look to “get his”. If we can put a run together I think he sticks around. He has a chance to be the focal point for the program and there is a decent core of players around him. I’m not saying UCLA or Oregon core but if they stick together we have seen how solid talent and experience can turn into a quality team. I understand the lack of confidence in Kent but would like to see how the final 6 games turn out.

Elleby would have been a third or fourth recruit on a lot of PAC 12 teams, AS A RECRUIT! Kent has definitely found a diamond in the rough/ under the radar guy in Elleby and he is probably the freshmen of the year. Cudos to coach for seeing what he was capable of and going out and getting him to WSU. Goes to show how even in this day and age of all the AAU tourneys and games the rating services / star givers are far from perfect.

Just a spin on your evaluative talents. I watched him play against so called 4 star recruits and he dominated I said at the start of the season that he would be fine talent.. Is the Coug resurgence due to having good talent ? or is the staff doing a superb job of coaching very "limited players"? The caterwauls have to spin an answer for that one.Kunc will also prove to be a diamond in the rough sans Nigel Johns .Kudos to the staff s recruiting and coaching this bunch of ragmuffin little talented players:)
