He said he was looking mostly at guaranteed money. Isn't money guaranteed only if you're a first rounder? Is that interviewer a coug? The way he was talking at first I thought he was, but later he said he was a Duck fan.

Quite a few of the 2nd round picks are now getting some guaranteed money. Last year Jaylen Nowell of the UW went in the 2nd round (43rd pick overall) and signed a 4 yr contract with at least $1.4 Million guaranteed.

Anybody can sign a guaranteed contract but only first rounders are guaranteed as soon as their name is called. I doubt Elleby will be drafted so I imagine he is looking to hear from a team they want him as a free agent

Still saying he needs a guarantee. I think he said he's talked to 12-14 teams. Also said he was offered a 2-way contract last year.

Definitely seems leaning to staying in but the whole "guarantee" could turn it I guess. I won't read much more into the comments although think there are some clear signs.

Assuming fans are allowed in Beasely this season (talk about a venue that you can social distance in) I plan to make my way to Pullman as often as possible. I’m really excited about the changes in the program I saw last year and it looks like Smith is bringing in a few nice recruits with upside. If CJ is back I’m probably buying my first set of season tickets.

Lmao on social distancing in Beasley. Looks like that can be a thing of the past. Love the job that Smith and staff are doing.Playing defense and valuing the ball, what novel ideas for a winning recipe in hoops. Plus Smith seems to have created a family atmosphere in hoops. We(wife and I)will return to Pullman for hoops games again this coming season.

For some reason my post took a dump !! Not sure why ? Thrilled with Coach Smith and the job he is doing.

ESPN, currently has CJ Elleby On Bubble at #72, after the 60th, final pick of the 2nd Round of the ESPN NBA Mock Draft.

While it's theoretically possible that CJ Elleby could be drafted somewhere either at, near end of, last pick of 2nd Round, an or sign a guaranteed contract, at either the 2nd Round, Undrafted Free Agent Contract, NBA G league level, it's VERY UNLIKELY.

And therefore likely that CJ Elleby returns for his Jr Year, where with a Klay like Jr, and Sr, and senior year, he Elleby could, might probably be drafted at about somewhere between 16th pick in 1st round at best, to last pick of 1st round, at average, to top pick of 2nd round, at worst, and get a guaranteed contract, more money.

So because of that, CJ likely returns, would be very shocked, surprised, and concerned for CJ, if he were to not return.

Oh and the deadline to withdraw from the draft is Aug 3rd, or 10 days after the combine, whichever comes first.

Also if CJ returns, WSU would still have enough schollies to sign the currently committed class, because of Henson, Cannon leaving early.

That does not include Jam, whatever, however you spell, pronounce his name, Kunc clone.

He was with team on a delayed, conditional offer, delayed committment, that if either Kunc leaves, or CJ didnt return, he gets offer, and gets to commit, play at WSU.

So if CJ returns, and Kunc, etc, doesnt go, he would probably either have to go somewhere else, or greyshirt, or get a preferred walk on offer, etc.
