Elleby to UCLA?

Didn't he sign? That would be as big as Gittens failing to qualify. Where did you see/hear Elleby to UCLA?

  • He signed his LOI. Actually on Nov 13,there is a photograph of it if you guys want to check. If the Cougs can sign Easterner eff Octchere 6'11 240 then thy will have a great recruiting year.

How would a rumor like this get started? Elleby piratically dominated Garfield High in his last game.Perhaps people are seeing his talent and vast potential ? Elleby can be a special player if he continues to develop and mature. His best basketball days are ahead of him. I guess a lot of schools are wishing that they had pursued him harder?

I wish we could add one more high school kid with some good upside this year. Elleby sounds like a Davonte Lacy type of talent who also got over looked by PAC schools.

I really think that his potential is way above Lacy.I saw videos of his play against Garfield and he looked like the best player on the court. I can really see him as a starters next year.It would be nice to have another HS player. But,Otchere is a juco with 3 years of remaining eligibility. I hope they can land him but the distance is the main problem. He is the defensive presence and rebounding they need inside

I think we would have room for another JC big, and and a good high school prospect when the smoke clears. Not looking for a 4 star, just a real good high schooler with skills, and upside.

You are probably right about Elleby, simply because of of his size compared to Lacy. However I remember watching Lacy in the state championship game, and it was obvious he was going to be a good one.

When you think about it we have done pretty good with under recruited in state kids over the last few years, starting with Lacy, Hawkinson, Franks, Daniels, and Flynn. We just need more than 1 a year.

Looks like Langston is moving on so that would give them 3 to give at this point with Elleby and Wade taking 2. Could see others transferring out.

Elleby looks like a great prospect for us but ava's absolutely correct that we need more than 1 of these under recruited state kids per year. We aren't doing much of anything in California. That said if they are able to get Jeff Otchere to sign with 3 years left then they have done a really nice job on paper.

How can a rumor (aka lie) be spread widely on social media and the internet? Oh grasshopper, where does one begin?

I started to link to an article outlining the average of 5.9 lies per day stated publicly by a certain major political figure, but didn't want to get that started again. Suffice it to say that, contrary to a somewhat widely (and wildly) held belief, just because it is on the internet doesn't mean that its true........

5.9 lies sounds about right - counted at least 6 lies by a certain major former coach in this article here pushing his unqualified protege who was actually hired over candidates with actual FBS coaching experience IN Pullman.

I DO NOT want to start down this road. That said, I don't count 6 lies (although I think exaggerations/falsehoods are better descriptions here). I count:

1 falsehood (PW a better coach than Tony Bennett). And this one IS a whopper.
Maybe a second falsehood (better prepared than Dennis Erickson). At least an exaggeration.
Marvelous and a great personality? Well no to both, but those are personal opinions. Not purported statements of fact.

So no, there are not "at least" 6 lies in the article you refer to. And it is obvious. Which makes your post...............a lie. Sorry dude.
