Is that what WSU is paying for? A coach to sit in a room somewhere else to lead their team?
If he doesnt wanna get vaxed, fine. His body, his choice.
It’s WSU’s football team. Their team, their choice who coaches it. If the HC’s decisions, regardless of scenario, limit his ability to perform the job ~ good bye.
It would just be temporary until he's over his Covid sickness.
One game or two games tops (most likely)
Not acceptable. And the other options? Covid long hauler or death. However low those percentages may be they still exist. Infecting someone on the team on in the athletic department? What if there is an outbreak on the team traced back to the HC? That could potentially cancel games. Lost revenue, lost opportunity to play, all around loser for the program and school. Can WSU afford to risk that?
This is risk versus reward. If nothing happens, nothing happens. If something happens, can WSU afford that fallout? It isnt just about Rolo. It is about everything he is involved with and how it could be effected. Tens of millions of dollars are in play here.
Write him a check. Accept his resignation today. Move on.

What if RoLo comes out and publically acknowledges he's had the Covid-19 virus and plans to rely on his naturally acquired immunity, would that be enough for you to let him keep his job?

Jim Sterk hired plenty of alums who failed testing and couldn't coach a game.

You just nailed the problem . My guess it is a 55 45 split . Disagree with those numbers in this state? Why the head coach should never comment on politics and why rolo should be at pac 12 meeting . You alienate half your “money”, one way or another .

If he physically can’t do the job. If I added up all the days I came to work with a sore throat or the sniffles over the years it would be substantial. They’ll test the hell out of him for Covid and even if he’s asymptomatic he’ll be forced to sit.
Just as they would if he got the vax and had a breakthrough case...which are not "rare".
Here’s the thing- 0 football donors were going to withhold donations if Rolo got vaccinated. Not sure the impact on athletic donations this will have but I’m sure there will be some fallout. But I can almost guarantee there are donors that support academics (which if you all recall is the real reason the university exists) will be in Schulz’s ear about this. Can you imagine if Paul Allen was still alive. Hell, this may have gotten him off the sidelines and got him involved with athletics.
If Paul Allen were alive still $0 for WSU Athletics.
