This is Old news rumors.
It's just rumor, speculation, based on facts, that Oliver Luck have been in talks with AAC, etc.
It's a very likely scenario, based on the facts, etc, but NOTHING HAS BEEN FINALIZED, OR OFFICIAL YET.
The rumormonger that keeps putting out this rumor, and other rumors, has been known to be labeled a hit or miss troll.
Despite that, I think this is likely to happen based on the facts backing it up.
Oliver Luck has been in talks with the AAC, and I believe he will SUCCEED.
And just because the PAC adds Memphis, USF, SMU, Tulane from the AAC now, does NOT mean that the PAC can't, won't add SDSU, BSU, FRESNO ST, UNLV later in 2025,2026 season, year.
Remember that MWC have HUGE exit penalties that end in 2024 that prevent adding individual MWC teams now.
But there is no reason why PAC can't add the 4 from AAC now, do either a TEMPORARY 1 YEAR media deal, or a Permanent deal that lets you add more value teams for a better upgraded deal, then play out the 2023, 2023 seasons, then add the top 4 from MWC, then either do a new media deal or keep the the upgradeable deal, then play on from there.
There would, could be 3 divisions.
West Division
Stanford
Cal
SDSU
Fresno St.
Midwest Division
WSU
OSU
BSU
UNLV
East Division
Memphis
SMU
USF
Tulane
SMU could be in Midwest, and UNLV could be in either West or Midwest or East, so could, can be tweaked.
The 3 divisional winners, play in a 1 game playoff to the conference championship game, with either the best conference record or best divisional record, or best overall record or highest ranked team getting a bye to the conference championship game.
That's for football.
In basketball, also add Gonzaga, St Marie, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle U, from WCC, and add UCONN.
With so many powerhouse bball programs like UCONN, Gonzaga, Stanford, Memphis, UNLV, etc, PAC would get 2,3,4,5 NCAA Bids.
2 bids in bad years, 3 in average years, 4 in good years, 5 in great years
No reason this is not possible.
And no reason can't start this with the 4 AAC teams first, then adding the 4 MWC teams later, then adding the bball teams after that.
Such a PAC would get 1,2 CFP spots, 1,2 NY6 spots, 2-5 NCAA tourny bids, and about 17 to 20 to 23 mil per team deal, and would get to keep its status as a tier 2,3 P5, G5 hybrid
Then could add ACC LEFTOVERS or VANDY, Iowa St, Northwestern, Rutgers, etc, later
This is very feasible, possible, doable, especially with Oliver Luck in SERIOUS talks with BOTH of the AAC, MWC, and individual colleges from those conferences, etc.
WSUDEFENSE, your overreacting, kneejerking.
