Imo Jackson is a 5. Played 5 all year and though he has shown a nice shot out to about 15 feet is pretty much a back to the basket player. Volvo will back him up. Plus we added the Ivy League transfer as a walk-in who will if nothing else be a big body. I would really like to see a dead eye shooter just in case our present shooters don’t improve. Although it sounds like Roberts shot very well in D-2 ball
The 3 things WSU needs, is:
1. A CENTER, Sure can start Dischon at the 5, and Vova at the 5, and Efe at the 4, but then who backs up Efe at the 4? AJ?, Vova? Rosario? The Walk On?
Altho AJ at the 4 would be good, WSU needs a back up Center to free Dischon to Rotate to 4, with the Back up, or Vova at 5, when Efe getting subbed out, when WSU wants to go VERY BIG.
Also, Vova is going to be gone in 2 years. Really need a replacement center that will be in 2nd year when Vova Gone, and 3rd Year when Dischon gone, and for when there are injuries.
2. A TRUE PG: Koulibaly, Roberts, Rice, will probably do the job.
3. A 53% from 3 point range SHARPSHOOTER, that is CLUTCH.
I can only see Maybe Noah, and Maybe Tyrell Roberts A BIG IF, MAYBE doing that.
So WSU needs to recruit, develop one.
Doesnt even need to be a great player. It can be a 16 minute per game 54% from 3 Point, CLUTCH, STEVE KERR like esque SHARPSHOOTER.
A player like that can STRETCH the Defense out, and open up the Inside out, outside in game.
4. As a added bonus, a EXTREMELY HIGH % MIDRANGE JUMPSHOOTER.
Baylor's Midrange Jumpshot, really helped tear up Gonzaga's Zone.
Baylor went inside 33% of time. Shot 3 pointers 33% of time.
And when Gonzaga tried so hard to shut both down, Baylor got open midrange 8.5 foot to 14.5 midrange jumpshots, that they consistently got, and consistently made.
If WSU got a AWESOME Midrange Jumpshooter to go with the rest of what WSU has or gets, WSU would be harder to stop.
