I think whoever the Cougs wrangle in is gonna be a good one, there's just too much talent available.

Texas Tech sounds like they're going to have some players leaving, including 6'7" SG Micah Peavy. Just a situation to keep an eye on.

There is at least 1 spot at minimum.

1, 2, 3 more spots depending on who available, how good, etc.

Right now there is Tari Eason, and Wendell Green.

WSU is the Front Runner favorite for Tari Eason, because he likes WSU, likes the style of play, his friend Noah is at WSU, has a VERY LONG RELATIONSHIP with Smith, coaches, and has hand msny VIRTUAL CALLS, etc, with WSU, WSU is on his favorites list, UW and Arizona are messes right now.

Wendell Green is another possibility.

Champ is another possibility, tho its stsrting to look like WSU may not get Champ.

If WSU gets all 3, WSU will make extra spots to get all 3, by encouraging transfers.

Same if WSU gets Tari, Green.

If WSU gets 1 of them, instead of more of them, then 1 spot will be filled.

1 spot will be filled with a AWESOME player, whether its Tari, Green, Champ, or some other player.

Is there a WSU connection for Peavy? He is now in the portal

Let's say we were to end up signing a guard and a forward I'm wondering who others would want us to sign?

Eason or Groves?

Green, Beauchamp, or House?

Each one would be a big get and fill or augment a need. I don't know that we get any of the 5 but interested in who others think would fill the biggest needs.

For me I would lean to Green and Eason. I think Eason would fit well with Efe and Jackson and Eason has more time on the clock plus the Noah connection. Green seems similar to Bonton but more "point guard" which would be huge.

However, I really like the few times I have seen Groves, Beauchamp has NBA-type talent, and House totally disrupted us this year.

The last two things I’ve read from Eason didn’t mention WSU. Arizona and Virginia were both mentioned in both articles, Pepperdine was mentioned in one. Not sure if that means anything or not.
My first choice to fill the last spot would be Green just because he is best suited to fill in the gap left by Bonton but so does Roberts if he can make the jump.
My second choice would be Eason I agree he would really fit nicely with Efe
Third would be Groves he could provide stability and a pick and pop option we presently are lacking unless Efe finds his stroke again which I expect he will.
I’m also pretty sure we have offers out and feelers out to players we don’t even know about yet. Fun time of year 😀

Would love to have House. Super defense and offense really coming around. Matt Santangelo type, refuses to lose or let the team lose. Not all that hot on Beauchamp because he's probably a one and done. Please fill me in on Green. Not familiar.

Green (listed 5'11") is smaller than Bonton so whether he could match Bonton defensively? Not so sure and that was an underrated part of Bonton's game. I have only seen highlights but to me it looks like he's usually looking to pass even on the shooting highlights. Looks like he has good shooting range but in these highlights he scored a lot on penetration and shots inside the key. Does that translates to the Pac 12?

House created a lot of issues for us. He was all over the place and the genes are there to improve the 3 shooting.

I think there is about a 90% chance that WSU gets at least 1 of the 5, with Eason, Green, Groves as best chances.

Champ seems like he may have lost interest in WSU.

According to Stock Risers article Eason is probably likely to either commit, sign with either WSU, Marquette, according to what Eason has been saying about WSU.

Green and Tanner, dont know where they stand, but doubt Tanner is ok with being WSU's Plan B, to Eason being WSU's Plan A.

I would Prefer Champ and Eason. Or Eason an Green, Or Tanner and Green.

But Frankly, any of them, would be great gets, and if for some strange reason, none of the 5 dont end up at WSU, pretty sure Smith would find a awesome get eventually.

No, Peavy will most likely go to UT, as Beard just hired his father. However, there's a ton of talent leaving that team, so overall I think there's plenty of talent out there WSU can nab.

Obviously it would be nice to grab an Eason, Beauchamp, etc. but in the end, I think whoever WSU ends up with will be a player and move the team forward. There's just too much talent out there now.

I think the best 2 recruits for wazzu would be to get the 2 local kids. Champ and Eason. It would help further solidify our ability to recruit Seattle. Further opening that pipeline is a key to having continuously good recruiting classes. Others may be better for fit, but recruiting the western part of the state having Noah, Eason, and Champ on the team would greatly raise our profile. With UW being dysfunctional it could very well make us a destination. If we can piggyback that with some success the possibilities would be endless.

I think they all end up at UW. Hop has to have something going for him because he’s lost his entire squad pretty much and hasn’t been fired. We need a PG that can creat off the dribble and not turn it over. Our turnovers were horrendous this year. Gotta clean it up. The Portal is so active right now I can’t keep track.

Champ may or may not end up at UW, but doubt it.

UW isnt interested in Green.

UW is tooooo much of a Mess right now.

And when Eason talked about UW, WSU, Pepperdine, Arizona, Marquette, he said "IF I GOTO UW"

NOTE THE IF. Also note that he didnt use the word IF for any of the other teams.

The experts like Stock Risers, etc, are suggesting MARQUETTE, WSU, and what Eason has said about Marquette, WSU, probably bears that out.

LOGICALLY: It would be ILLOGICAL for Eason to goto a MESS like UW, over WSU where his BEST FRIEND NOAH WILLIAMS is, and since he has done ZOOM calls with WSU. And since he has EXTREMELY LONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH WSU.

UW HAS HAD NO ZOOM CALLS ETC WITH EASON OR CHAMP.

Pitt also in the mix for Eason. My guess is UW or Pepperdine. Also not sure If WSU or Green has lost interest but he hasn’t mentioned us awhile.

The Stock Riser's article shows OTHERWISE based on what Eason said about each of UW, WSU, Arizona, Pepperdine.

Eason had BETTER, NICER THINGS to say about WSU, then ANY other team, UW, etc.

He said "MY GUY NOAH WILLIAMS GOES TO WSU".

HE SAID "I HAVE A LONG RELATIONSHIP WITH THE WSU COACHES"

He has said that he has done ZOOM calls, virtual tours of WSU.

He said "I like WSU's style of play"

Does he have any BEST FRIENDS like NOAH at UW? No

Does he like UW, or their style of play? Either no an or didnt say.

Does he have a long relationship with the UW coaches? No or didnt say

In fact the only thing UW has is that Eason said, IF IF IF I goto UW, I would be going back home to seattle and Wil Conroy(A former NBA player, heavily involved in Seattle AAU, like Jamal Crawford)

UW hasnt had any virtual tours, and no zoom calls, and hasnt scheduled or doesnt have any zoom calls?

Basically, what you and other Coug Fans are doing, is what some so called experts do when a Duke type college is competing for a player that WSU is after, they ASSUME that WSU is AUTOMATICALLY going to lose out on the recruit to the Duke type, not because of any evidence, BUT BECAUSE ITS DUKE, and why would a recruit ever choose WSU over DUKE OR UW, despite the evidence that shows that the recruit is likely to choose WSU over duke, UW(Noah, Eason, Dischon Jackson, 4 star, AJ, 4 star, Rosario, 4 star). Yep those highly rated players wont choose WSU over UW or a DUKE type, deslite the evidence that shows otherwise.

Pitt also in the mix for Eason. My guess is UW or Pepperdine. Also not sure If WSU or Green has lost interest but he hasn’t mentioned us awhile.

Pitt is NEWLY in the Mix, meaning they have newly shown interest.

But Eason hasnt shown interest in Pitt.

In fact Pitt isnt even Eason's list of favorite colleges he is considering.

According to Stock Riser's that list is:

WSU: Co semi Front runner, semi Favorite with Marquette, because of the EXTREMELY AWESOME things EASON said about WSU, that he hasnt said about any other college, and the extremely long relationships with WSU coaches, and because his BEST FRIEND NOAH WILLIAMS GOES TO WSU.

MARQUETTE: Co semi frontrunner, favorite as if Eason doesnt goto WSU, he will probably go play for SHAKA SMART the ACE recruiter at Marquette

Pepperdine

UW(MESS)

Arizona(MESS)

Bottom of list if on list:

Pitt, etc.

You didn’t read the article or you are really really reading a lot into an article written about a conversation not the actual conversation. He has never said we are his favorite or had more than one zoom meeting. We don’t even know how that meeting went because he never said. You need to climb back into reality for a bit. I would love to get a commit from Eason and would jump for joy if it happens but there is no indication that it’s even close. Again Pepperdine and UW are my gut feeling just because the connections in the Seatle AAU world. I truly hope I’m missing something and we are his leader.

Pretty diverse list. Also, doesn't appear the brothers are necessarily a package deal.

Bummer. He would have been huge.

Green would have been a nice combo guard/PG

And he certainly would have helped.

But even tho that puts more pressure on Koulibaly, Tyrell Roberts, Rice, to be a GOOD PG, and more pressure on Smith, i think, 1 or 2 of them will be a GOOD PG.

What WSU needs the most is a CENTER, to help, semi start, semi back up VOVA.

Eason, Tanner would add a lot of depth to the 4, PF spot to Efe, Dischon. But Efe, Dischon are already so good, so awesome, that WSU really only MUST have CENTER help

Aside from CENTER help, Green, Tanner, Eason, etc, are just a nice bonus, that tho a nice bonus, would help, is still just a really nice bonus.

Basically getting them would basically mean WIN EVEN MORE THEN THE AWESOME NUMBERS OF WINS WSU WOULD WIN WITHOUT THEM

That said, I hope WSU gets them, but even if dont WSU, would still be just fine.

The CENTER HELP tho is almost a MUST HAVE for WSU.

I think whatever happens, WSU, Smith will be just fine

Imo Jackson is a 5. Played 5 all year and though he has shown a nice shot out to about 15 feet is pretty much a back to the basket player. Volvo will back him up. Plus we added the Ivy League transfer as a walk-in who will if nothing else be a big body. I would really like to see a dead eye shooter just in case our present shooters don’t improve. Although it sounds like Roberts shot very well in D-2 ball

The 3 things WSU needs, is:

1. A CENTER, Sure can start Dischon at the 5, and Vova at the 5, and Efe at the 4, but then who backs up Efe at the 4? AJ?, Vova? Rosario? The Walk On?

Altho AJ at the 4 would be good, WSU needs a back up Center to free Dischon to Rotate to 4, with the Back up, or Vova at 5, when Efe getting subbed out, when WSU wants to go VERY BIG.

Also, Vova is going to be gone in 2 years. Really need a replacement center that will be in 2nd year when Vova Gone, and 3rd Year when Dischon gone, and for when there are injuries.

2. A TRUE PG: Koulibaly, Roberts, Rice, will probably do the job.

3. A 53% from 3 point range SHARPSHOOTER, that is CLUTCH.

I can only see Maybe Noah, and Maybe Tyrell Roberts A BIG IF, MAYBE doing that.

So WSU needs to recruit, develop one.

Doesnt even need to be a great player. It can be a 16 minute per game 54% from 3 Point, CLUTCH, STEVE KERR like esque SHARPSHOOTER.

A player like that can STRETCH the Defense out, and open up the Inside out, outside in game.

4. As a added bonus, a EXTREMELY HIGH % MIDRANGE JUMPSHOOTER.

Baylor's Midrange Jumpshot, really helped tear up Gonzaga's Zone.

Baylor went inside 33% of time. Shot 3 pointers 33% of time.

And when Gonzaga tried so hard to shut both down, Baylor got open midrange 8.5 foot to 14.5 midrange jumpshots, that they consistently got, and consistently made.

If WSU got a AWESOME Midrange Jumpshooter to go with the rest of what WSU has or gets, WSU would be harder to stop.

Good call. You got your wish regarding a dead eye shooter.

Hasn't seemed like we were really in it but Eason to LSU. I guess at least it's not dub.

Never did particularly think we were high on his or his mother's list

We have actually won some "hat dances" lately but if he was going Crimson I thought it would happen pretty quickly. Maybe next time around like with Flowers (only being partially sarcastic).

IEOHO Jackson is a Five. He is the real deal and the first WSU 4-Star Center. Basketball family and a great kid.
