hopefully this 30 ppg point works out better than the last one. He definitely has a much better looking shot.
I really like this guy, He is a pure shooter,as he hit 48 percent from the field and 88 percent from the free throw line. He averaged almost 30 pts a game. However ,it is his court vision which really stands out for me. There will be a transition period ,which hopefully will not take to long, This kid will shred zone defenses. Lightly recruited yes,but he has major potential
We shall see as he played against relatively poor competition and that may be why other P 5 teams did not offer him.SMU is in trouble now and may not be offering many scholarships. He can shoot the rock and has good athleticism.A good coach can see the potential and has to look past the competition sometimes.IF he did not have potential ,SMU would have looked at him once and never returned . Some players fly under the radar because they play in lower classifications. If he has the heart to practice weight lift and up his game ,fans will love this kid.I want to see what Kent says about this kid. Does anyone know when the next signing date is?
That's a much better offer list. Haven't seen highlights but interesting. On another note, the cougs are reportedly in the final three for 3 star Cal HS player from Brazil in Lucas Siewert. Siewert is a 6'10-230 PF who has narrowed it down to Colorado, Creighton and Washington State.
First time I saw David Stockton I did not see D1 starting PG so you do never know. Flynn looks good shooting and seems to handle ok. Not extremely quick or athletic and saw him get torched on the defensive end. Time will tell if he can hack it at this level.Flynn doesn't look super quick for his size, so that is probably one issue. You just never know. I still remember watching Stockton as a senior and thinking "skinny kid who shoots the ball pretty well". He didn't really stand out that much, even in a very poor Spokane league.

I will never discount athletes that are accomplished in the classroom. It's typically an asset as long as they don't over think things on the court or field. Discipline off the court can carry on to the court as well. Good to see on Flynn.I believe that his athleticism is better than people think. He can dunk the basketball and gets decent lift on his jump shot. He has the skills and intelligence and court sense to compensate for not being an elite athlete. if nothing else ,he should raise the squad s GPA. He has a 3.78 GPA and is friends with Hawkinson which helped in his recruitment.
Thanks for posting. That's about where I landed after watching his highlights including the Daniels part. Flynn doesn't look like a Pac 12 athlete but doesn't mean he can't play. I wonder whether he can guard at this level. He's smart so Maybe that can makeup somewhat for lack of pure athleticism. I wonder about lateral quickness though, which I think is actually more important.Ok got a scouting report on Flynn from one of the better high school coaches in Washington state, IMO. This is word for word what he texted me so if you don't agree feel free to comment but do realize its not my evaluation.
" I think he's a legitimate D-1 guy. Better than Vionte Daniels who is there from Fed Way. I don't think he'll be all PAC-12 or anything, but he can score in a variety of ways. I worry that he's not a PAC-12 athlete so he needs to put on some muscle. I'd say a good get for WSU but not a program changer by any mean."
I guess the question is how does he athletically stack up against Derek Low or Taylor Rochestie? But the next question is do we have a system that he can use what talent he has and be successful?Ok got a scouting report on Flynn from one of the better high school coaches in Washington state, IMO. Agree with this.I don't think WSU needs or can get that one guy who will be a program changer. What we need is 3 or 4 guys that as a group can become program changers. To me this evaluation says that Flynn has a lot of upside, because he is going to have strength and conditioning resources available to him that are much better than what he has seen in high school.
Its a lot easier to get a kid like Flynn stronger than it is to teach a guy like Junior Longrus to shoot.
Well, we did get two NBA players in the past several years, so I think we "can" get them.I don't think WSU needs or can get that one guy who will be a program changer.
