hopefully this 30 ppg point works out better than the last one. He definitely has a much better looking shot.

I really like this guy, He is a pure shooter,as he hit 48 percent from the field and 88 percent from the free throw line. He averaged almost 30 pts a game. However ,it is his court vision which really stands out for me. There will be a transition period ,which hopefully will not take to long, This kid will shred zone defenses. Lightly recruited yes,but he has major potential

I hope you are right. I haven't seen him play, as I just have not watched any basketball this year. I would like to again. I do not like his offer list and the offer list of any of the Ernie Kent recruits. I thought he would be able to get into better living rooms than he has.

There is a guy on BY that says he has watched him a lot and thinks he is not good enough to play at a P5 conference school. I hope you are correct and not him.

Hopefully he turns out to be better than his offer list would suggest. The SMU staff looked at him several times but didn't offer - they might not have had one to give with their scholarship reduction penalties.

He's very slight of build so may have similar problems that Redding had with competing in the Pac-12. Does look like he has a much better shot though.

Interesting WSU connection. His older sister was a Cougar track athlete and is now married to Jeshua Anderson.

We shall see as he played against relatively poor competition and that may be why other P 5 teams did not offer him.SMU is in trouble now and may not be offering many scholarships. He can shoot the rock and has good athleticism.A good coach can see the potential and has to look past the competition sometimes.IF he did not have potential ,SMU would have looked at him once and never returned . Some players fly under the radar because they play in lower classifications. If he has the heart to practice weight lift and up his game ,fans will love this kid.I want to see what Kent says about this kid. Does anyone know when the next signing date is?

On another note, the cougs are reportedly in the final three for 3 star Cal HS player from Brazil in Lucas Siewert. Siewert is a 6'10-230 PF who has narrowed it down to Colorado, Creighton and Washington State.

I have only watched minimal video of Flynn, but my feeling is that it is never a bad thing to sign the 4 A player of the year from your own state. Certainly no downside with Callison returning and Acquaah coming in.

Also, This makes 3 west side kids that Ernie has signed. I would much rather take a chance on an in state kid than an out of state kid. Sooner or later we get into the homes of some higher rated kids over their.

I watched Seiwert on video. Nice stroke from mid range out to 3 point.

I do not know how good the Narrows League is, but Bellarmine is a AAAA school. So, the competition may or may not be great, but it will not be horrible either. I just hope you are right about him, that he turns out to be a player.

So do i.He is a state guy and he has the potential to be a player.Time will tell with all the recruits.some make it some do not.He is an intelligent player and that certainly helps.

That's a much better offer list. Haven't seen highlights but interesting.

On Flynn, agree on the shot but he doesn't look that good of an athlete from the highlights I watched. Still though, Acquaah, Pollard, this guy, would be better class on paper than year 1/2.

Flynn doesn't look super quick for his size, so that is probably one issue. You just never know. I still remember watching Stockton as a senior and thinking "skinny kid who shoots the ball pretty well". He didn't really stand out that much, even in a very poor Spokane league.

First time I saw David Stockton I did not see D1 starting PG so you do never know. Flynn looks good shooting and seems to handle ok. Not extremely quick or athletic and saw him get torched on the defensive end. Time will tell if he can hack it at this level.

The Brazilian big is intriguing. I love 6-9+ guys that can shoot to 3.

Flynn has good athleticism, not great. But i rather have him than Ike who is very gifted athletically but seemingly cannot harness it to play consistent good team basketball. Defense is sometimes just having intensity and playing tough. He has to adjust to playing against grown men. If i was him, i would lift weights and spend the summer in Pullman practicing against his teammates ,and working on conditioning and strength.Flynn has the skill sets and great shooting ability. He has to work on his body and mindset to elevate his game.I think that he will do it.

Doesn't appear to have PAC 12 level athletism but we are use to that. There is always room for a shooter. Welcome aboard Mr. Flynn, hit the weight room and gym and make the most of the opportunity!

I sent a message to a coach that played against him. Hoping for at least a evaluation and maybe some game film!

It will be interesting what another coach says about Flynn. His coach seems to be very high n him.

I believe that his athleticism is better than people think. He can dunk the basketball and gets decent lift on his jump shot. He has the skills and intelligence and court sense to compensate for not being an elite athlete. if nothing else ,he should raise the squad s GPA. He has a 3.78 GPA and is friends with Hawkinson which helped in his recruitment.

Elsie :), that is why they have AAU basketball.

Flynn did play AAU basketball . i do not know how he did and have never seen any stats on his play. He was playing basketball and not wasting time on the diamond where munchkins lurk

I will never discount athletes that are accomplished in the classroom. It's typically an asset as long as they don't over think things on the court or field. Discipline off the court can carry on to the court as well. Good to see on Flynn.

Also, I think most of us agree that chemistry seemed to be at least as big a problem as talent this season. A smart kid who is also a coaches son, in my mind, brings some good intangibles to a team looking to build some chemistry.

Ok got a scouting report on Flynn from one of the better high school coaches in Washington state, IMO. This is word for word what he texted me so if you don't agree feel free to comment but do realize its not my evaluation.

" I think he's a legitimate D-1 guy. Better than Vionte Daniels who is there from Fed Way. I don't think he'll be all PAC-12 or anything, but he can score in a variety of ways. I worry that he's not a PAC-12 athlete so he needs to put on some muscle. I'd say a good get for WSU but not a program changer by any mean."

Fair evaluation which i mostly agree with. I agree that he needs to work on conditioning and his strength. He is a good get who may surprise as he gains maturity and builds up his body

I don't think WSU needs or can get that one guy who will be a program changer. What we need is 3 or 4 guys that as a group can become program changers. To me this evaluation says that Flynn has a lot of upside, because he is going to have strength and conditioning resources available to him that are much better than what he has seen in high school.

Its a lot easier to get a kid like Flynn stronger than it is to teach a guy like Junior Longrus to shoot.

Thanks for posting. That's about where I landed after watching his highlights including the Daniels part. Flynn doesn't look like a Pac 12 athlete but doesn't mean he can't play. I wonder whether he can guard at this level. He's smart so Maybe that can makeup somewhat for lack of pure athleticism. I wonder about lateral quickness though, which I think is actually more important.

I guess the question is how does he athletically stack up against Derek Low or Taylor Rochestie? But the next question is do we have a system that he can use what talent he has and be successful?

Agree with this.

We'd love another roster full of Bennett type players.

Well, we did get two NBA players in the past several years, so I think we "can" get them.

Kent needs to sell a very compelling vision of WSU basketball to recruits that isn't about facilities, program history, etc.

He also needs to have the eye to find the "under the radar" kind of players.
