Football Schedule

Thanks, Kurt!

Lots of early home games.

I like where the bye is located, as well.

Saturday Apple Cup
This is a HUGE deal, getting off that horrible Friday after Thanksgiving date. I expect a lot more students can be convinced to get back to Pullman for a Saturday game than show up for Friday.

Kurt, I have often wondered- Are you a former Coug footballer?

The trip to Wisconsin- My buddies and I travel to many of the away games, and went to Madison years ago. Going to have to think long and hard before committing to that one again. Although my mouth waters just thinking about Lou Malnati's pizza, do I really want to fly into Chicago and spend time there in the murder capital of the US? Also, the Wisconsin fans are the WORST we have ever experienced on a road trip. Definitely worse than Oregon, probably even worse then uw fuskies and I refuse to ever return to the mistake by the lake. Many obnoxious and arrogant folks, even without any provocation from us.

For those of you that do want to go to Madison, a word of caution regarding tickets. Last time we got tickets through the allocation UW gave to WSU and they sucked big time. They split WSU fans into two locations-one way up in corner of end zone and the other stretched the full length of the field in the first row, maybe first two rows behind the WSU team. That's where we were, and the first row or two (whichever it was) were so low that the team and other personnel blocked much of the field. As if that wasn't bad enough, it was a very hot day with the sun shining at us, and the team was using a lot of the misters. Well, the result of that was that the bright sun shining on the mist basically made it impossible to see through, so you had to end up watching most of the game on the big screen if you wanted to see what was actually happening. Sucked big time. So if you do go, I recommend being very aware of where the seats are and if you want anything decent you will likely need to go after market. You have been warned.

Madison WI was fine - but their fan were jerks. Coming off the first trip to Auburn the year prior, it was a big letdown relative to any sense of hospitality/warmth.

On the bucket lists of away games, Wisconsin is way down the list. Wouldn't go back myself.

Culturally speaking, rural Wisconsin has many similarities to rural West Virginia. Urban Wisconsin is Chicago without the glitz. Of course there are good fans there, but at the time of our last game it was clear that there was no peer pressure on the bad fans for them to pretend to have anything resembling class. Unless some of that peer pressure has increased, they will probably be just as big of douches as they were the last time.

3 straight home games is never ideal, but at least they're during the typically good weather.

I'm excited about the schedule. Playing Idaho on Labor Day Weekend is perfect. The spacing of games in October and November is ideal.

Not a former Footballer. But I have been confused as an o-lineman these days

I like the way it lays out. Wouldn't mind having CSU as a 2nd tune-up before Wisconsin, but it's OK. I like the bye week ahead of Utah, and I like how we continue to get an Arizona school in Pullman in mid/late-November. That's my kind of evil.

But...I expect Idaho and Apple Cup to both get moved to Friday, and wouldn't be surprised if a mid-season game moves to Thursday.

I was in Chicago last summer. If you stay downtown it’s clean and safe, much so more then Seattle,PDX or Spokane

Sad statement but true - the west coast politicians have essential outlawed being lawful.

Have spent a ton of time on the east coast the past year and there is nothing like the shenanigans of WA, OR and CA with regards to ruining perfectly fine cities. It is astounding to see the difference.

The Three Amigos ride again next year? Arriba! :)

It's ancient history now, but what an absolute idiot move volunteering to play an elite P5 team on the road, and early at that. At the time of the agreement, it had to have been understood as a near-guaranteed loss, as well as the home game. Whatever incr'l revenue/interest is generated you easily trade in, in the form of the program's fortunes by starting out in the hole. Might as well play our home games in Seattle while we're at it.

We shall see. I think one amigo is coming up a bit lame! lol

That's just how it is, things change as life goes on, situations and priorities change. Right now i would say Arizona is for sure for me, as are all home games. OSU likely, WI just a maybe, and I really am not inclined to spend money or time in CA (although I do like to go to Stanford). However, in the past it has been nice to go in SF and down to Fisherman's Wharf, and that is pretty much a hot mess now so why go there. We'll see in a few months how it goes.

Hope all is well with you. Take care, H!

Any word if the Vandals will have hired a head football coach by Labor Day?

That's weird to me. Some hostility at UW, Oregon, and maybe even some places like ASU or Arizona, are to be expected (I've heard mixed experiences about the latter two). Strange to have people being jerks to visiting fans of a team from 2,000 miles away in a different conference minding their own business.

As good of a schedule as we could ask for in terms of scheduling games we had committed to. Not a fan of the Wisconsin trip, of course. Probably a light crowd for Cal, which is unfortunate since it will cut into our HFA in a winnable game that's important to take care of, but it's pretty good otherwise. Nice to get the Arizona teams in November from a weather perspective. Not playing a ghost town home game the Saturday before Thanksgiving is nice.

I think it a very good schedule.
Love Idaho back on the schedule.
Wisconsin and CSU is not easy, but nice to have a P5 game in the non-conf.
PAC 12 schedule is good- glad to be back on Sat for the AC.

Yea, the more I look it over, the more i like it. It's front loaded during the nice weather month, but there are still quality games in October and November with nice spacing between them.

The Idaho opener is perfect. I hope we do some joint marketing with the Vandals and try to fill the stadium. Allocate 10-15K tickets at a very favorable price point. Offer the bowl seating to the Idaho students.

We've had 7 home games most years in recent seasons, especially in years in which we get 5 conference home games. Trickier in the years when WSU only gets 4 conference home games, because then it has to get all three of its OOC games at home. Not as difficult in even years (2020, 2022, etc.).

Offer no seating to the Idaho students. Losing team walks home.

I like that, which is why I think we SHOULD offer the bowl seating to Idaho students. Loser walks home, but to be cordial, we'll have a pub crawl in Pullman to send them home in style.

Tell them to bring folding chairs and they can listen outside the stadium.

CSU is a mess right now, and is a good game to have after @ Wiscy.

With our lame Labor Day fan base and all of the excuses that come with attending the game, I don't care if all of the Idaho fans attend.
If all of the Idaho fans attend, they'll still barely fill the visitor & GA seating.

But don't worry, that game will get moved to Thursday or friday.

I don't see that happening. There are a lot more compelling P12 matchups on opening weekend than WSU vs. Idaho. We'll see how the new commissioner views it.

Oregon vs. Georgia
Utah vs. Florida
Oregon State vs. Boise State
Colorado vs. TCU
