Oh boy. Macafee trying his best to turn it into a WWF intro. What a 🤡
Loud mouth, white-trash haircut, trademark black wife beater, and WWE - only thing he’s missing on his bingo card is a face tattoo.Oh boy. Macafee trying his best to turn it into a WWF intro. What a 🤡
100%. Herbie’s their golden boy, they need to keep him out of the mud and it’s not Desmond’s style. It was totally scripted. No doubt in my mind that little tirade was sanctioned by the network. This is just the first step toward getting our flag off the set.
I was a little perplexed ESPN passed on our game with UCLA next week but it makes 100% now.No doubt in my mind that little tirade was sanctioned by the network. This is just the first step toward getting our flag off the set.
I 100% agree with you. It does appear to be an intentional targeted attack? But why?Got in the car this morning and the two ESPN radio idiots proceeded to talk about the TV markets for WSU and OSU being Pullman and Corvallis.
They are willfully ignorant at this point, completely ignoring the actually tv ratings.
You CANNOT tell me this isn't a targeted attack now.
Surprise: a corporation only cares about itself.I 100% agree with you. It does appear to be an intentional targeted attack? But why?
It's not like they don't like the logistics of traveling to Pullman, I think they all contract out to 3rd party TV vendors and trucks.
So if it is a targeted attack, why does ESPN want to punish Washington State and OSU?
I'd love to see Leaf invited on and eviscerate McAfee similar to when Mark Cuban eviscerated Skip Bayless.McAfee is an ass but his dig is at Ryan Leaf. Those two are engaged in WWE feud theater.
Leaf needs to stand down and not make it about he and the dickhead.
On the other hand, Reece needs to box McAfee about his head for being a dick.
Get out of your heads for a moment, guys. I'm amazed how often our fans feel like the whole CFB world is focused on WSU. It obviously is not. If they were, we wouldn't get called "Washington" half the time, and Tim Brando wouldn't have been mumbling something in the Oregon State game last night about how it's "even possible that there might be a merger between the remaining Pac schools and the Mountain West," as if that was some kind of grand revelation or fresh topic. It was obvious he (and Tillman) barely had any idea what was going on.I 100% agree with you. It does appear to be an intentional targeted attack? But why?

Don’t forget the 30 minute human interest story, usually something along the lines of a kid with elephantiasis of the testicles that never could go to see his favorite team because his nuts wouldn’t make it through the gate turn style .Even before this, I no longer could watch Gameday. There's no real discussion or analysis, other than the occasional stray bit you could easily get elsewhere. 90% idiotic remarks with each followed by 5-10 seconds of snickering by everyone else, no matter the topic.
He’s trying too hard. What makes it funny is when it’s someone’s genuine personality that leads to outside the box banter (ie Charles Barkley). It’s so obvious it’s all for show it’s nauseating. Just like Bayless he’s going to take it too far and say something truly stupid and his career will go up in flames.I really liked Pat McAfee when I first saw him because he was funny. His problem is that his act is to be a bombastic, loudmouthed a$$hole and he feels the need to up the ante all the time. I agree that this tirade was scripted but he has gone full WWE this season and it's no longer funny....it's kind of sad.
He's a loud, ignorant white trash version of Dick Vitale and it's sad that ESPN is firing people that actually care about sports in favor of a wife beater wearing idiot.
The difference is Dickie V uplifts and celebrates at every turn (loudly).I really liked Pat McAfee when I first saw him because he was funny. Pat McAfee's schtick is to be an asshole (loudly).
It’s considerably better than the NFL preview shows. But that’s a low bar.Even before this, I no longer could watch Gameday. I have never been able to watch those for longer than 15 seconds. I loathe any of these ensemble-style shows where the game just seems to be jamming 5 former players and coaches with low to moderate analytical abilities into suits on the set with some kind of host "moderator" and having them give surface-level views and joke around. It's just so obvious there is no actual intent to analyze anything, especially in recent years. Hate it.It’s considerably better than the NFL preview shows. But that’s a low bar.
There is a narrative that "no press is bad press" here on the board, but when you have national, respected pundits with gigantic soapbox to preach from lying at best, woefully ignorant at worst - people believe them. No one looks or pays attention to the facts, and if Corso and radio hacks say WSU is a shifty TV school, then people will believe them.Get out of your heads for a moment, guys. You simultaneously are talking about how we're in the news with some of these things (the Gameday mention, Dickert's comments getting some press, etc.), yet when it's discussed in an ignorant manner on ESPN radio -- and on that point, think about what kind of idiot is on radio in today's age, and how irrelevant it is -- or if McAfee makes some ignorant remarks about the flag tradition, think there's some huge campaign by ESPN. (I know ESPN signed off on McAfee doing that, and maybe even wrote that, but that was in response to what happened last week, and not necessarily evidence of some grand conspiracy to "devalue" WSU or something.)
Reams of evidence over several years indicate that it isn't any of that and that, instead, we and Oregon State are getting a little attention, with some sound bites across the hundreds of hours of sports programming on these outlets you are referring to throughout the week, with our situation(s) discussed in an ignorant manner like they always have been. If anything, these clowns are somewhat better informed than they usually are. ESPN is not "punishing" WSU and Oregon State in these media sound bites.
Ernie, Shaq, Chuck and Kenny are must watch TV. It's the show all others aspire to be.I have never been able to watch those for longer than 15 seconds. With you completely on the last line. Our guys should quote some numbers, or at least say clearly how the Cougs' viewing has ranked in the conference. Something more specific than "people watch us." That would get picked up, and then some of these same morons would start talking about that than about how they don't know why a couple of schools "with media markets in Corvallis and Pullman" have legitimate power conference cases. There is a narrative that "no press is bad press" here on the board, but when you have national, respected pundits with gigantic soapbox to preach from lying at best, woefully ignorant at worst - people believe them. No one looks or pays attention to the facts, and if Corso and radio hacks say WSU is a shifty TV school, then people will believe them.
Not only that, bit isn't it interesting that Corso framed his slam in reference to TV contracts? Not wins and losses, or attendance, or championships - he went right for the $$$ shot. And was 100% wrong.
Leaf should have come with numbers. Dickert should mention or TV share at each presser. Fck em all.
He’s the white-trash trailer-park tough-guy version of Stephen A Smith. If you yell loud enough you are the authoritah.
