Las Vegas oddsmakers have installed Colorado as a 11.5 favorite over the cougs in tonight s game.In other news ,ASU beat Stanford 92-84 in the Tournament

Tough way to lose the last game of the season. We just couldn't get shots to fall in the second half. No legs.

One wonders about the conditioning of the team . They need a lot more stamina and one wonders why Kent did not use Pollard.? They needed fresh energy and legs in the game. Flynn absolutely needs to up his conditioning and hit the weight room.He knows the game but has plenty of work to do in the off season When he stops performing the cougs stop playing well. The team without Hawkinson and Connor will be much better defensively next season

I'm not sure "tired legs" is the main problem with this team. Colorado played 25 minutes of defense with intensity and our offense always implodes when the other team chooses to do that. The ball stops moving freely, players become discombobulated, etc. Makes one wonder why defense is only an occasional, afterthought kinda-a-thing in today's game--for most teams. The commentator noted once that Colorado was full-court pressing until a player pulled up his dribble, then would back off and defend everyone else. Hawkinson traveled once in that situation and others seemed equally perplexed.

We shot so badly in the second half even from the line. The lack of flow wasn't legs though.

Was anyone surprised we crumbled in the second half? End of a season that exceeded my very low expectations (1-2 conference wins).

Time for a contract extension and a raise for Ernie.

Get it done Moos!

It was more about Col stepping up the defensive intensity. We missed shots the second half because we got very few good looks. They are much more athletic than us.
Fatigue and lack of depth contributed to the few good looks we did miss, but we dont really have anyone who can creat e his own shot when a team really steps up the pressure.

Flynn played way too many minutes for a frosh this year and it caught up to him. Same thing happened to Klay his freshman year.

I agree that the team needs a couple of players who can create their own shots. The players who are currently redshirting are said to be able to do that. Flynn has the applicability of being able to do that with more development. I truly believe that the cougs will be better next year.

I love the optimism but other than a redshirt due to injury why would those players have redshirted on a team with depth issues if they were even close to being ready to help the team. We lost King to transfer who I never was high on anyway but we had no injuries so depth was going to be a problem from the beginning. My bar for next year will be lower than this year, our last game of the year we got a total of 5 points from underclassmen. On the upside we will be very young next year if we can create some chemistry/learn to play together and win some games and be competitive in most games the following year could be solid.

Well do we believe Kent, who is the master of the hyperbole?. Kent claims "they beat us all the time" and" we can t stop him" referring to the redshirts. The cougs with Hawkinson and Connor were slow and bad defensively. They will be better defensively nextyear..I believe that they will be solid next year. Of course, how Kent uses the three remaining scholarships is vital to next year and the long term success of the team.

Franks Daniels and Flynn are all going to be better next season. Acquaah and Hinson give us more scoring punch from the perimeter, and Acquaah may give us a creator that we didnt have this year. Not sure what to expect from Chidum but I am anxious to see him. Cooper at a minimum should give us better interior defense.

Lastly we are not trying to replace 4 seniors who lead us to a 20 win season. If that were the case I would totally agree that we are looking at a drop off.

Don't underestimate the loss of seniors. I remember a lot of people discounting the impact of Lacy, Krinich-Drew, and Railey all graduating believing WSU would be a better team in Kent's second year. Losing Lacy was especially impactful. The Cougs went 1-17. I would prepare for a dropoff next year and be pleasantly surprised if WSU finishes with a better record.

Glad Cougar

No prediction on record. I just think we will be more competitive thsn most think. Also Flynns late season drop off has caused people to forget how big an impact he had fir most of the year.

I agree about the loss of Lacy. It really left a vacuum in terms of leadership despite having 3 upper class starters returning. The fact that a freshman this season was able to assume that role early on speaks to the problem last season. Also, assimilating so many newcomers last year became more difficult.

Next year we have a returning floor leader and arent trying to bring in so many jc and transfer kids. The 3 red shirts have a little leg up over total total neecomers

I agree and i predict a better record. The departing seniors, each had their strengths but as a whole had the same weaknesses.Flynn did slump at the end of the season with bad results for the team.Flynn now must work hard in the off season to become a consistent floor leader .It is hard to completely visualize what the team will look like next year with three remaining scholarships still available. Kent made references to their trying to bring in some more quality big men for next season. If they can bring in another player who can protect the rim, they may be a very solid team. I also think that both Pollard and Franks will make considerable improvement during the next year. These players along with the redshirts should provide a lot of depth. They need one of the reshirts to become an impact player for the team. There is skepticism but there is also hope among the majority of coug basketball fans for next season.

We still have 3 spots to fill so next year could look significantly different in a few months. I'm not worried about Flynn at all and see him actually improving next year. Looking forward to Acquaah and Hinson could be an improvement overall on the wing as well. Whether Franks can improve his overall game and become a consistent Pac 12 starter seems key to me.
