That isn't a spot I had initially considered, but it seems realistic.
Not what got into Mateers head... same thing that got into Falks head, Halliday, Minshew, Tuel and Gordon.... they rush three and drop 8. Leach couldnt figure it out , nor has Arbuckle.
Plus....what NOBODY is talking about...
What if....the team already knows Mateer is gone. Did they just quit?

Might explain the complete shit sandwich on offense, but honestly last night was the same thing we've seen from WSU for several weeks.
The team to me looked like they've quit and they're watching and reading social media.

I think this. Throw Arbuckle in that too w Rumors he’s on to his next gig, he mailed it in. And seriously F that guy, we had a chance to go to the playoff put together a nice bag and some much needed publicity for the program and he’s F’ing around thinking about Oklahoma or wherever he’s headed. I hope that dude crashes and burns and is a QB coach at West Texas in a two years. .
These kids are, for the most part, P4 kids. They've shown it earlier in the season.
I have no fcking idea what happened between weeks 4 until now, but the execution and mental toughness simply aren't there.
I've been saying since early in this season that those chickens would come home to roost, and frankly I'm surprised it took so long, which is a testament to the fact that they ARE P4 kids; they've gotten away with a lot of poor play and execution simply on their "good looks".
The sad part is, despite Schulz's insistence, football is no longer a priority at WSU if for no other reason due to budget. The next coaches we get will be a major step backwards.

No, I don’t expect anyone to stay here forever. I do expect that when you are cashing a $700K check to design some plays, you finish your job to its entirety. You’re ok with a lawyer on your team skimming through case files and bullshitting his way through a trial? Basically saw the football equivalent of that with Arbuckle…or he’s just not a very good coach.
Well, if that lawyer was being constantly bitched at win or lose, I would expect that lawyer to depart for a bigger paycheck.

Although a number of posters enjoy just enjoy mouthing off without even using their alcohol soaked brains, I think it's useful to think about the consequences and possibilities of replacing a coach before it actually happens. What will it cost, who is realistically out there that would be an upgrade, impact on recruiting? Got anything to say, or do you just want to bitch and moan?
I think I just said it. In this business every game is a job interview…for your next job or to keep the one you have. Arbuckle failed yesterday. And he started out his last two interviews well then shit his pants after they broke for lunch.

On our coaching - I don't see you expressing an opinion on what, if anything, we should do. As usual.
How many times do you need to be told NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT YOU?
Also, you obviously have nothing to say about what the potential pool of replacements looks like. So, this is just another example of you needing attention it appears.
