Good news if you're a hockey fan living in the state of Washington

step one: get hockey team
step two: don't name the mascot something Seattle-stupid, like "Sounders"

I'm having a really bad feeling about Sasquatch getting the nod on this one, and them adopting a name like "the Quatches" or worse "The Qwatches".

It'd be nice to have a nod to our NW heritage.

I've got it:

They can do like the Phoenix teams and go with a region instead of a city!

Introducting the Northwest Neckbeards!

Seattle may be getting an XFL franchise and NOT Spokane.
Hopefully Vince McMahon comes to his senses and sees the potential of Paul Wulff coaching in Joe Albi Stadium.

M'eh. Hockey. Whatever.

Bring back the NBA instead.
I agree. Never did like watching hockey. Basketball is a much more interesting and athletic sport. I would rather much have the Sonics back.

Also, the traffic and parking around the Seattle Center is going to be horrendous and just get worse. It is not going to be fun going to games at the new Arena.

Let’s see a basketball game with roller skates

The NBA can suck it as far as I'm concerned

If you want true local historical flavor; something to do with Skid Row....

The Seattle Skids?

Thinking of hockey and ice skating.
Has WSU ever had an outdoor skating rink? It might be a fun thing to consider for 2 or 3 months of the year even if it's just maintained on weekends. It would be something that the other schools in the pac could not have on campus due to rain or warm temperatures.

Also congrats to Seattle for getting a team in the NHL. They will have a natural rivalry with the Canucks.

I'm partial to the Seattle Washingtons.
