Got Tiks?

Hey Stretch,

Remember where it all started?

Good seats still available!

I remember the good times with that, but I wasn't there for the very start. I have friends that were there before I came into the PCCC, when they got together with Mike Price at the soccer facility by the Tacoma Dome. The leader back then was was Tim Hamilton, good guy, and may he rest in peace. When my time started with PCCC it was in the mid to late 1990's at the Tacoma Sheraton.

Plus we had the annual golf tournament at the Tacoma Golf and Country Club. Fun times.

The real old time gathering was in Tacoma at the Engine House (?) in a room upstairs with Mike Price going over signing day with about 30 diehards. First class he reviewed was with Signor Mobley and Torey Hunter. The Curtis pipeline was strong.

Memories of Costco lasagna, bag salad and French bread. Those were the days.

Levenseller was always fun at those gatherings.

Anyone here remember when it was held The Tacoma Club? There weren’t many folks at that one, maybe 20-25? Food was great and the bar flowed freely. Coaches were a crack-up

Uh….even before that a bunch of us met with Walden at Latitude47 in Seattle one time where he talked about his recruiting class. It included a “kid by the name of Mayes, from Saskatchewan, who was recommended to us by Coach Hugh Campbell”. He said kid sure passed the “look test”.

I have zero idea, to this day, why WSU stopped supporting these events.

I went to a couple of the Price recruiting events (Tacoma downtown Sheraton at the time) and it was a great event. I've been to a few golf tournaments - they had one at Canterwood I think too. Nearly all of my Cougar memorabilia i still have was picked up at these events.

To me, these events are about creating local west-side engagement and marketing. As long as these events break even, or even bring in small profit, we should do them.

Because WSU hated not having total control. Local volunteers limited building their fiefdom of athletic department associates and lackeys.
