Yikes, centerpiece of EK's recruiting class doesn't make grades.

Thread should read Gittens (damn auto correct

%$#@!

Well, I'll have to retract my position on Doutrive (sp?). I think Acquaah and Hinson would start anyway but big loss at this point. Hope he finds his way back to WSU in a couple years.

Always was a bit of a risk academically but too bad his hard work wasn't enough to get into school. Major hit to the recruiting class and we won't get to see if he was a high impact frosh or not. Hopefully can get back aboard after a degree.

I would hope so, However in most of the cases they usually end up somewhere else. Kent s terse"we wish him luck" may not bode well for his continued recruitment

I was really looking forward to seeing him play this year. This kind of lets a little air out of the balloon.

Lot of air and sends this recruiting class to the bottom of the Pac12

In terms of ratings which are sometimes suspect, the cougs are at the bottom of ratings and rankings. However, with my rose colored glasses, i still see potential.for having a successful season. The" woe is me" and doomsday fans are seeing a disaster of a season.looming on the horizon. We shall soon see as the opening of the basketball season is less than 40 days away.

It was going to take several guys stepping up even with Gittens to have a successful season. If those guys step up as hoped this could still be a good season.

I agree. I didn't have high expectations for Not anyway. Mainly looking for more competitive and entertaining team. Still think that is possible with addition of Chidum, Acquaah, Bernstein, and improvement from Flynn, Franks, Daniels and Pollard

It seems like you are discounting the jucos,Cooper and Hinton? Many jucos do not make the grade but i like Cooper s size,6'11 235 and Hinton s scoring potential.. it seems like a lot of possibilities to choose from. However, what stands out is the lack of proven scorers and standout players. That is why ,i hope that 2-3 players rise from the pack and quickly establish themselves as solid PAC 12 players.

I expect to get help from both Hinson and Cooper. However, I think the guys have been in the program for a year will be ahead of the JC kids in the learning curve

I think that the season depends on how much they will really miss Hawkinson. He had a good season and was a very reliable rebounder Hawkinson was a defensive liability and was not the fastest player.Actually the same for Conner, who was also a defensive liability but a good scorer. If the team can play solid defense and a couple of scorers emerge ,they may surprise a few people. They are still an athletic team and solid coaching may bring out the best in them.

I loved Hawk, but neither he or Clifford were good post passers. I think we can get a lot more flow and inside out from the half court offense this year.

Clifford by the way ,did well in the Drew League being named player of the game twice, He scored 21 pts in one game and had 16pts and 7 rebounds in the other game. He still does not have a pro contract as far as i know.
