Grad transfer

I don't know much about this guy but I live in South Dakota and the Coyotes are a so-so FCS program (SDSU is better, NDSU...of course,...is the class of the conference). The team gave up about 300 passing yards per game and this guy wasn't even honorable mention all conference, even though 6 Coyotes made all-conference. He was fourth on the team in tackles and had 2 interceptions. Bottom line, I'm not trying to bag on the kid but I'm hoping any grad transfers we pick up are better than this.

His bio looks better than what you described.

I'm curious if he's walking on or is on scholarship. I like his size, feel he is perfect for the nickel/hybrid lb slot similar to Hunter Dale.

I saw that and I'd be pleased to be wrong about him. I probably would've said the same thing when James Hasty transferred to WSU from CWU. But the bio you linked to references his 2018 season, which he played only 4 games all year due to injury. His 2019 stats and performance over a full season apparently is not award-worthy in the eyes of the Missouri Valley Conference, so I'm a little skeptical how much he can help a P5 program at the FBS level. Hope he makes it but we're going to need a lot more in that defensive backfield.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but it looks to me that injuries early on slowed his development. The fact that he already earned his degree says something about his maturity, and let’s face it, he doesn’t have to be elite to help us. He’s played stretches of ball where he was the 2nd leading tackler on the team. If he’s a quality reserve and a good special teams player, it’s probably worth it.
