Gueye signed

Don't know but I'm sure they have it figured out. The new signing periods are crazy. Two or three years ago if you didn't have your class signed in the 2-week fall early period there were only very slim pickings. Now it seems very few sign in the fall period and the spring period goes on forever. They have until August 1 to sign. As far as I know all of the other commits are just that, commits. May have missed it but I haven't seen anything where they've actually signed.

I don't believe you can "over sign" any longer but we know 2 are gone. It just hasn't been announced yet.

Roberts and now Gueye have signed. I actually hadn't seen Aiken but a poster on brandx said he was official. Haven't seen Flowers officially announced yet.

They may be technically commits still, but that is probably not going to be a problem.

Both Kim, and Flowers have made it EXTREMELY CLEAR that they are going to WSU.

And they havent said anything about going elsewhere or reopening their recruitment, or reentering the transfer portal.

And if they were, they would say so. And its not likely they would reenter portal because of not only are they strongly committed, but if they were to reenter portal, a lot of teams have already committed, signed their plan B's. So most of the musical chairs would be gone. For those reasons they are probably going to stay committed, sign with WSU.

The only way I see them not signing with WSU is Grades, Academics, but that shoukdnt be a problem because Kim has done well academically at EWU, and Flowers wouldnt be transfering to WSU from South Alabama, if there were grades, academic issues.

And they do have until Aug, 2,3 months away, to sign.

I dont know why they are not signing yet(Maybe they are waiting for family and friends to have a big SIGNING Day Celebration, Show. Maybe its a paperwork thing. Maybe they lost the Paperwork, and are waiting for the Paperwork, etc)

In any case I am not worried. There is about a 98% chance that they will sign with WSU.

I'll start to worry, if they havent signed by July, August. And even then, even if they dont sign, altho it would SUCK, it wouldnt be a DISASTER.

But they are going to sign.

If they dont, I'll eat my words, as thats how likely they are to sign.

Also another reason why they may not have signed yet, is maybe they cant sign now yet, without over signing, so maybe they have to wait until the 1,2 players either transfer an or have their schollies not renewed, before they can sign.

I’d think you’d see a few more in the portal if it’s been figured out? AJ, Marko or Rapp may be heading home and are done with US college basketball?

If this players are signed it escapes me why the don't officially announce it. A lot of site say Rice has signed but nothing official that I've ever seen.

Rapp yes, AJ maybe, Rosario maybe, Vova, No(WSU only has Dischon, Vova, Efe, Gueye at CENTER/5 spot. Vova gets about 17 to 20 to 23 to 26, etc, minutes at the 5 spot(He is probably not going to transfer(WSU needs his 7-2, 249 pounds, 7-6 Wingspan, Rim Protect, Space eating, 3 point shooting, Rebounds, etc)

WSU, Smith, etc, have 2,3 months to get them signed, figured out. It will probably(about 97% chance), get figured out, sign the players, etc.

Again, NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

Not worried.

And others shouldnt be worried either.

At this point we know 2 have to go. We can’t over sign but we can over commit. I would tend to agree if the decision has been made the leaving players would have entered the portal/ reopened their recruitment. Unless the player is leaving and not planing on playing NCAA basketball. That would suggest the foreign players Efe, Aj, Rapp, Volvo, Rosario, Jefferson but even then why not make the announcement? It is possible they are waiting for a ruling of some kind from the NCAA but what would it be? If I was a player I don’t think I would wait around to maybe get dropped, I would be in the portal shopping my name around. As far as the returning players they have till June first to be told if their scholarship in renewed so we should know something in the next couple weeks.

Rosario and Koulibaly are on the official roster so unless they know something I assume they are just misses?

EDIT: So are Kunc, Warren, and Chatfiled so...

Also missing from that list is Jefferson Koulibaly.

Rosario I could see maybe leaving because of the Log Jam of 6,7 players at the 3 spot, Rosario's position.

But I dont see Koulibaly leaving unless he is injured, because he is TIED for #1 back up at PG, and Flowers leaving after this coming season done, and Koulibaly being TIED for #1 back up at SG, 2 spot, behind Noah and because Koulibaly is likely to get about 16 to 19 to 22 to 25 minutes, and because he Koulibaly is liked by Gueye.

LOGICALLY I dont see it.

I think its more likely ESPN made a accidental error, oversight, wrong, etc. And ESPN didnt say something like "Koulibaly transfering", etc, and ESPN and other media has gotten things wrong about WSU in the past, like WSU's name, etc. And since they can get tgose things wrong, they can be wrong about this.

So taking what ESPN is saying, not saying with a grain of salt.

I'll believe Koulibaly(Who was INJURED the whole season), is leaving, if, when, if there is a OFFICIAL announcement saying so.

Wouldn't surprise me if AJ decided to go pro back home at some point. Rapp posted a "trust the process" in his Instagram yesterday. That would indicate something is up with him. I would feel pretty bad for him. He obviously wants to be a part of the rebuild probably even if he wasn't getting a lot of court time moving forward.

Really the top candidates for leaving is:

Rapp, maybe AJ, Maybe Rosario, NOT Bamba, because of friendship with Gueye, and because Bamba big reason why Gueye at WSU, NOT Koulibaly, maybe Vova(Doubt it)

Anybody not on this list, is not bloody damn likely to transfer.

Wouldnt suprise me if Rapp surrenders, loses his scholly, becomes a walk on, only to gethis scholly back once he is a senior or 5th year senior.

But if not that, him saying to Trust the Process probably means he is transfering, losing his scholly.

Its too bad that needs to happen, but Rapp is probably only ahead of the 6-9 Walk On, on the bench, and only averages 3 ppg, and about 7 to 9 to 11 to 13 minutes per game. So he Rapp is one of the 2 who needs to go to make room for the Newcomers like Gueye.

Sad to see him go tho.

But once a Coug always a Coug, so will be interesting what he does elsewhere.

Roberts and Aiken have articles on the official site. So technically Flowers may not have signed and waiting for a spot to clear.

Loss of innocence on the hoops side.

That spot will be cleared up in time, for Flowers to Sign before the Deadline, 2,3 months from now.

If there is one person that I would trust to be fair, honest, get it all figured out, done, etc, its Coach Smith.

There is a reason why Gueye and all the other highly rated players have gone to WSU:

They Keep on saying that Smith was REAL, GENUINE, SINCERE, FAIR, HONEST, etc, to, with them.

This new, extended recruiting era is taking some getting used to...but the results certainly seem to be positive from WSU's perspective. Should be very interesting this fall when coach Smith is trying to get it put all together.

I'm not worried about the ESPN list. I'm guessing they didn't bother to double check and make sure each player recruit is accounted for.

If Rapp is on the way out the door, I wish him well. Vova seemed like the most likely guy to be moving on, as he's buried on the depth chart and I see this team going smaller on occasion with all the wings and guards who need minutes.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if someone slated for more minutes leaves for more PT. They are going to be hard to come by next year. Top to bottom this will be the most talented roster in school history.

Yep to illustrate what you said, compare Rapp, Vova to players like Blake Pengelly, that started, albeit a temporarily.

Heck Matt the 6-9 Walk On might be better then David Vik, Brian Paine, Caleb Forrest, Enquist, or Lindquist, whatever his name was, is, who either were on scholly, or started, or #1,#2, #3 back up, etc, back then.

When the Bottom of the Roster, and even the Walk On's are better then starter's in past years, that says a lot about how good Smith, etc, is, or how bad the past coach is, or how good the coach did with past bad talent.

This team would CRUSH the Bone, Eastman teams, that didnt have Hendrickson, IKE, Fontaine, Ellison, Klay, etc, on them, and would probably edge out, beat Hendrickson, IKE, Fontaine, Klay, Ellison, Reggie Moore, etc, teams, in very close games, and probably would beat Sampson's best teams in very close games, and would probably just barely lose to Guy Williams, Stuart House, James Donaldson, Craig Ehlo team, and just barely lose to the Tony Bennet Sweet 16 team.

One job of a HC is to assemble the puzzle pieces into the best picture that he can. Smith is actively demonstrating that he can get the pieces. I suspect that this season we will get a better idea of how well he can assemble a picture, now that he will have a lot more pieces with which to work.

LaVar Ball and Paul Wulff at school at the same time.

Wonder if they met Grover Krantz?
Ah, yes, Grover. That brings back memories.

My wife was an Anthro grad in the Grover years. I used to laugh at her descriptions of his classes. Add to that my mom's girlhood home was Bossberg, where Grover and Ivan Marx claimed to have found Bigfoot, and it was probably inevitable that he would be a topic of interest for me. I remember in '68 (and/or '69) when Ivan had Argosy magazine underwriting his binge purchases of snowmobiles, trucks, boats, motor cycles, etc. The house he was renting was about 100 yards from my mom's cousin's house. Ivan was a big topic of local amusement, and Grover made at least one (perhaps more; I don't know) trips with Ivan to the supposed site. My extended family knew pretty much everyone between Colville and the Canadian border who figured into the siting reports. I have to give Grover this: most professionals would not have been willing to sacrifice their career over a fringe belief, but he was a man of his conscience.
