Gueye

I simply hope that he listens to the right people. Another year at WSU with Jackson at center, and Gueye as a forward will show another part of his game. PLus he needs to bulk up a bit to make it through an NBA season. Hard to say no if the money is there, so leaving for the NBA wouldn't surprise me.

Good reasons to go either way. I think it's likely multiple teams are going to like him more than enough to guarantee a 2nd round pick. At least, that's what I'm assuming unless this is an unusually deep draft.

I do think he could explode playing next to a 5 that could take on the primary interior presence role allowing Gueye more freedom. I don't know if his continued development and playing in a more comfortable spot would push him up into the 1st round.

Why would you think that Jackson will be at center? Not sure he will play again myself. But I have no knowledge one way or the other. I sure would like to see him back.

Why is it assumed he can only bulk up and improve his game in college? The pros have great trainers and exactly what they want him to work on

Jackson has posted some social media videos and photos practicing. Not with the team, but in Pullman. He also posted that he received an NIL deal through Brotherton and CryptoCougs. None of that means he's coming back and even if he does who knows how he will come back.

They do have others that seem like interior players at this point: Diongue, Cluff, Chinyelu. I personally think Gueye's gone. Kuany Kuany (Cal) went portal. We targeted him I believe Smith's first year. He took a visit, but went Cal. We have apparently contacted him. No idea of the real interest either way.

Second photo. Isn't much to go on, but

Thanks that's the first good news I have seen. With a Top JC Cluff, Diongue, Chinyelu and Jackson I don't see much need for Kuany, but I always liked him as well. Need is in a seasoned PG.

It’s a positive Jackson is in Pullman working out but without knowing what his medical issues were and what procedures were needed to correct them it’s really hard to speculate how it will affect his game.

I think everybody knew Gueye would test the waters again simply because it makes since to do so. I’m still not convinced he is an NBA player but he definitely shows flashes of it and having only played the game for a short period of time, he has room to develop his game. I’m also not convinced the best place for him to continue to develop is in college. Schools have limits on how much contact and work they can do with players. I hope he chooses to return and play for WSU for selfish reasons but I think he’s probably gone.

Yeah, at least it's a sign on Jackson.

Then, the guy punch. Jackson goes portal. He was probably my favorite player from that class. I really saw a big talent. Too bad he was derailed so much by injury and then the deal last season. I wish him well wherever he lands. More than anything I wish him good health!

Not necessarily a gut punch. Maybe for us fans, but I’m sure Smith and the staff saw this coming. I wish D Jack well, but I fear he’s still dealing with some serious health issues.

Recruiting seemed to indicate that he was gone. Yes, wish him the best in health and life.

I hope it works our for him, seemed like a great kid and teammate, Jackson showed a lot of promise at times. If he can stay healthy he will do well where ever he ends up.

With Jackson Transferring out via Portal, and with Gueye likely 50/50 on staying/going draft and staying in draft, then IF Gueye does NOT stay, and if Chinyelu, Dion, Cluff not starter material this coming season, an or if WSU's starting front court is 4 spot: Jaki, and 5 Spot: Either Chinyelu, Dion, Cluff, then if that case, happen, then if WSU doesn't get a BIG TIME portal acquisition WSU could go from the chance that had of being one of the best Frontcourts, if had both Gueye, Jackson, and everybody else, to the chance of becoming one of the worst Frontcourts.

2 biggest needs on this team could be a 5,4, to replace Gueye, Jackson, etc, and a PG, if Gueye doesn't stay.
