Hailey Van Lith

Would be great if we had a shot. Unfortunately, we can’t compete with the NIL offers she is sure to get & influencer exposure she likely would like from her next stop.

I saw that this morning.

Thats weird seeing someone transfer after going to the Final 4. Wonder what the reason is.

Money and I imagine her lifestyle probably fits better elsewhere .

If I were a betting man I bet UW goes hard after her with NIL money .

yeah I was surprised when she chose Louisville. I went to basketball camp right after they won the championship with Never Nervous Pervis and the year after...and its not the nicest campus.

Not saying it won't happen, but going from a Tournament team to a team that's rebuilding would seem like a strange move. She would get shots.

She's Adidas, and on brandx someone noted dub is Adidas. Who else is Adidas in the Pac?

My daughter played against her in champ game at best if the west in Yakima . Her dad left I wanna say kent area to cashmere probably when Hailey was in 7th grade. So she is familiar with puget sound, and maybe that is home for her.

Her dad was very involved in her hoops . He coached that 8th grade champ game . I do know one very prominent school closed down recruiting of her because he was too involved .

Maybe she is a fish out of water in Kentucky .. not sure . I would think she has two years left with a covid year and she has three years in already .

If Van Liths lived in the Puget Sound it was for a short stint. They were in the Wenatchee Valley for years.

Maybe … I know she was in aau ball in puget sound in 4th 5th, 6th… don’t know where they lived prior to that .

But it was after 6th grade she was east of the mountains and started playing for Steve Klees NW blazers I think in 9th grade .

I’d be willing to bet she was playing AAU in the Puget sound but not living there. There’s not much if any AAU program in the WV.

I know a fair amount of kids from Spokane that play on Seattle Lacrosse, 7x7, VB and Basketball teams. Most if all of them are no where near HVL athletes but their parents think they are.

Read the story below. Understandable that her dad scared a few programs off but also explains her greatness.

Maybe he had a project west of the mountains, and Hailey played for puget sound aau programs before she played for the Blazers.

I heard in real time Uconn dropped her because of her dad. It will be interesting to see where she lands. I would imagine at this point it isn't about chasing a national title because she would need to transfer to South Carolina or maybe LSU. I think it is about making as much money as she can make.

She has a “ No contact” clause in her recruitment. Only she can contact schools. Not vice versa

From here and other places, sounds like she's a lot to deal with. She's obviously talented, but wonder if she's worth the potential disruption to chemistry?

I talked to a coach in the AAU circuit. They lived in Puyallup then moved to Cashmere according to the coach. She played at several Puget Sound AAU teams. The coach could be wrong but the coach is pretty well plugged in.

She is a high volume shooter. She needs the ball in her hand and she takes a ton of shots. My daughter matched up with her in a champ game at best of the west, when they were in 8th grade. Everyone who she was and a kid behind their grade Von Olfen (last name is butchered). She enrolled at OSU as a senior in high school. My daughter had that defensive assignment as well.

In terms of Hailey, my guess this is her chance at money. The dream of playing for a National Championship vs getting a mil, I think your financial advisor would suggest take the money. I hope her dad has mellowed and she gets to go where she wants to go.

The coach was wrong. I talked to my Wenatchee homies. The only move she made was from Wenatchee to Cashmere.

A dawg poster on brandx that seems to have pretty good regional sources over the years posted on Van Lith. Doesn't sound like there was a lot of interest from most programs due to her & dad being a bit of a handful. She's obviously a talent. LSU/Mulkey is probably the ideal landing spot for her.

It cost her a scholie from uconn coming out of high school

Transferring to LSU.
Darn. She's a cutie too. Although no WSU women's BB player could match Jenni Ruff. Swoon. And coach Sherri Murrell too. Met her once. What a honey - despite the fact that she turned out to be a lesbian.

Gino doesn't chase players. He tells them "if you want to play for for UConn, so be it. If not, that's fine too".

Definitely not an ass-kisser which sounds like what the parent's ego needs.

Dad’s ego anyway.

She doesn’t like your type loyal .

The same poster from above said "Her (Van Lith) problem is she thinks she is the coach. I know the Louisville coach and he is very happy she is gone."

No idea how close that hits the mark, but I don't think that would work with Geno or Staley or Ethridge.
