Damn he almost cried talking about not taking it to the house.
They seemed to be in a basic cover-2/ zone thing on that last drive. Maybe someone else here can speak better to this, but ithe seemed a bit odd that Henley would have dropped so deep into pass coverage on that play to make the pick. But if he hadn't, that pass appeared to have been right on target for a game-tying td (Idaho probs would a gone for 2 tho).
So if he read that, goes to his smarts in reading the play. Maybe it was designed. Dunno. That's all I have to say about that.
If you look at that play the qb threw into coverage . He had a receiver running a crossing pattern to the left that was wide opened and would have scored . Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good .
Yup that’s probably where Henley should have been in his drop, but luckily he was there and the QB didn’t see the underneath route running free.
I thought he was out of position when watching live, but on the highlights it looked like he was tracking with that receiver from the snap. He just drifted underneath far enough to bait the throw.
Either way, he diagnosed it well and saved the game.
