I hope Henson lands in a spot where his shooting can be used. Seemed like a good guy. When he signed it looked like it was basically to replace Franks and he ended up barely playing. Always seemed to support the rest of the team. Wish him well.

I wish him the best, but his scholarship was needed, and with Jackson, Vov, Miller, Agobidi, Kunc, Chatfield, etc, he Henson was probably going to be sitting on the bench, wasting a scholly that needed to sign, be given to Jackson, etc.

Smith said in a article I read that Jackson is probably going to get a lot of playing time at all 3 forward spots, in order to get him on the floor playing, developing, and that he is probably not going to redshirt Jackson.

Also wouldnt be surprised if either Chatfield, or a guard also transfers to make room for either a 6 ft 7 in Hybrid 3, stretch 2, stretch 4, or a PURE PG, if CJ doesnt leave early(Great chance that CJ doesnt leave early)

Chatfield is a walk-on so he doesn’t need to make room for anybody but it wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t finish his time a WSU.

Walk-on's are very good insurance and also very useful in practice and my understanding is that Chatfield is a good one.

Chatfield either was, is a walk on, that was either at the beginning of this year, or mid season, or at the end of last season, or beginning of next season, has been or will be put on scholarship.

Either that scholarship, or the scholarship of a end of the bench guard, needs to go to either a 6 ft 7 in Hybrid 3, stretch 2, stretch 4, recruit, or a PURE PG, recruit, IF CJ does not leave early to the NBA draft. If CJ leaves early then CJ's scholarship would be used for the Hybrid recruit, or the PG recruit.

Chatfield is not, was not, and for next year there has been no indication he will be on scholarship. 13 scholarship players per team that’s the rule. When James couldn’t play, his scholarship went to Miller at semester.

Thats not what I saw, read. I read a article saying that Chatfield either has been, or will be put on scholarship, or even if not put on scholarship, coach Smith said he deserves to be on scholarship, or Smith said he will deserve to be on scholarship, and that he chatfield would probably be put on scholarship eventually, before finishing up at WSU.

Smith or the source I read, said that if a scholly came free, by either CJ leaving early, or a player transfering, etc, that the free scholly would probably goto Chatfield, an or that Chatfield would get extremely serious consideration for getting a scholly.

I dont have the link, or remember where I read it, etc, but I know I read it somewhere.

And if I am wrong, then the media source that I read, miswrote aboutvthe situation, and misquoted, misrepresented what Smith said, etc.

Smith is happy with Chatfield and I believe rightfully so but there is no scholarship available. If CJ leaves we are actively recruiting to fill his spot. Brand x has a Spokesman Review article that makes it sound like Kunz might not be coming back.

Word is that the Cougs might be getting a 6'7" kid from Macedonia, Andrej Jakimovski. They would need that additional scholarship to make that happen, either CJ or someone like Kunc leaving. AJ appears to be much like Kunc...so that makes sense. If both CJ & Kunc leave, that creates a need, IMO, for a grad transfer.

I listened to Coach Smith on the SR interview. Kunc is at home and they are somewhat worried that he might have a hard time getting back when its time. No indication that he was leaving. The above player that Glad is talking about would have the same problem in getting into the country.

They apparently are taking lots of time and getting plans set in case of various scenarios.

That being said, AJ, did visit Pullman in February according to many sources back then. Wazzu Wassup on twitter for one. Save posted video as I recall.

Sounds like to me its highly likely that AJ is being recruited to take the place of someone that is leaving or could be leaving.

Kunc, CJ ?

I have never thought highly of kuncs game.

Watching AJ's video, he has a beautiful looking outside shot albeit he takes some time to get it off. I was happy to see that he also seems to be able to put the ball on the floor and drive to the hoop. Always skeptical of quality of opposition in these videos, but the nice shooting touch has nothing to do with opposition. It's just a matter of whether he can create the space to get that nice looking shot off vs. tougher defense.

At any rate, I think this kid from Macedonia would be a welcome addition.

AJ's best assets is his driving skills and passing. His shot needs a little fine tuning but has a lot of potential. He may struggle to defend based on the video I watched. I think he is a great prospect for us all things being said.

His shooting sounds ok and can be improved and Smith's staff can help with that.

And his defense can easily improve thru Smith.

This recruit is exactly what WSU needs.

He is a 6 ft 7 in, HYBRID 3/G/F, STRETCH 2, STRETCH 4, that can play the 2,3,4 spots like Sean Elliot, Malik Sealy could.

Sean Elliot, Malik Sealy were both 6 ft 7.5 in HYBRIDS that played the 2,3,4 spots in college and NBA. They were also good ball handlers, DRIVERS, passers, etc. Their shooting was ok, but not great. They were extremely athletic.

About the only thing AJ is not like them is he is NOT athletic, doesnt have lateral quickness, but that can be mitigated by Smith into decent defense, thru development, hardwork, positioning. He is also a better shooter then Sealy. Elliot.

His ability to play at the 2, SG, 3/G/F, 4/PF spots will get him playing time, develop him, and allow line up flexibility, interchangeability.

This, he is EXACTLY what WSU needs.

Now will he measure up to that and develop? i don't know and we'll see, but this, he is a good addition to a awesome class that is potentially the best Class WSU has ever had ON PAPER.

But oh no Smith is doing such a terrible job according to a poster here.

Looks like Kunz 2.0!!! By the way Sean Elliot shot 45 percent from three point land.

2017 just based on their highlights id say Kunc is better but we might loose Kunc so we might not have a choice.

I know it's a totally different level of competition but where has that Kunc been hiding?

Weaker then Kunc in a couple, few ways, but overrall better then Kunc, because AJ can slash, Drive, etc, and either finish, dish, etc, and can play the 2,3,4, and can play the 2.

Kunc can only play the 3,4, and is only a good shooter, and doesnt drive, doesnt pass well, cant play the 2, like AJ can.

Overrall that makes AJ better then Kunc, because AJ is a HYBRID, and Kunc is not a HYBRID.

Mikalalas watch recruiting video I posted of Kunc they are basically the same player and if anything Kunc drives and finishes better than this AJ guy.

Kunc does drive much better than we usually have seen. Part of the problem was all the emphasis on defense which took away from what will be the offense in time.

Kunc does have a bad habit of hanging around in the deep 3 corner and waiting rather than working like Thompson and others have done. But that will come in time. I don't think he is going anywhere nor would I particularfly want him to do so. AJ is more than likely a potential replacement for CJ's departure if that happens, which I hope it won't.
