Here we go.

WSU still has what it has. Facilities, coaches, school, etc. What is changing is the schedule. What is changing is what the kids signed up for may no longer be offered.

Chun had better get to work scheduling games. Otherwise his coaches have zero answers for all questions asked by recruits and players. The verbal lists could disappear and the rosters empty.

WSU needs to stop waiting to see what happens and start making things happen. They have 3 non con games for 2024 football. Assuming they have OSU, furd and Cal they need 6 more power 4 games.

Klaitkoff and Schulz may be getting ready to bring in a bunch of expansion teams from the Mountain West (WAC) to restock the Pac-12 as a Power 5 conference

Biggs, what do you think the "Loyal 4" should do for next football season?

(I still think WSU and OSU are getting into the Big 12 and UC-Berkeley and Stanford are getting in the Big 10)

They need to play each other for sure.

WSU has:
Portland State
SDSU
SJSU

if I read correctly for 2024. Add OSU furd and Cal to make 6.

The prob is with so much addition, all these other leagues are changing schedules too. If they decide to play more league games… less opp for non con games with WSU. And it isnt just WSU, its cal furd OSU too looking for work. Anddddd some schedules are made years out for teams in leagues that haven’t added.

These other schools fcked WSU out of:
millions
a conference
schedules
their rosters could empty
verbals could leave
any tv games?
and finally they may not be able to fill out a 12 game schedule. so fcked out of games too.

Chun has his work cut out for him.

Are cal and standord on board with the lesser academics?

SJSU, Portland St, don't belong.

The PAC 4 has to get the BEST DAMN MIDMAJOR'S IN WORLD, ON PLANET.

The best MIDMAJOR'S in world, on planet are

SDSU, SMU, Memphis, USF, Tulane, Rice, UNLV, Fresno St, CSU, Utah State, NDSU, BSU, Appalachian St, Gonzaga, etc.

The LESSER midmajors are: Wyoming, SJSU, New Mexico, New Mexico St, Portland St, Portland, EWU, Montana, Idaho, Weber State, UTEP, AIR FORCE, HAWAI, etc.

They've won a lot of games, but is Boise out because they hand out truck-driving certificates?

That hasnt been disclosed yet

I am 100% fine with the Pac 4 upholding the tier 1 research requirement. At the same time, dont deny other programs because they are G5 or FCS or in a small market. You need a Western US conference.

These 4 presidents should be on Stanford’s private plane right now walking in the door to these schools and making offers.

You cannot wait until ALL of your verbals have left and ALL of your rosters have entered the portal.

Stop letting someone else make decisions for your multimillion dollar business. JFC be in charge of your own program.

No. The PAC 4 can't be academically picky.

BSU has beaten Ohio St type blue bloods in Past NY6 bowls. PAC 4 can't afford to pass on those type of teams no matter how academically bad they are or no matter if they in China, etc.

That's the same reasons why PAC X can't afford to pass on Memphis, Tulane, USF, SMU, etc.

If they the best, or one of the best MIDMAJOR'S on planet, they BELONG in the PAC X

If they are not, they don't belong in PAC X

This is why Idaho, etc, DOES NOT BELONG IN PAC X, etc.

One Problem is that 9 of the 12 MWC presidents would have to vote in favor…and that’s not happening unless we bring 9 of them.

There’s no avenue left to an “academic prestige” conference (and the presence of Boise state immediately destroys any mention of academic prestige).

They still could make a western mostly R1 conference, adding Hawaii, UNLV, Nevada, Utah State, New Mexico, and Colorado State.

Just to get the MWC to vote in favor, we’d likely need 3 more. Boise, Fresno, and either Wyoming or Air Force seem the most likely and most marketable. Fresno and Wyoming are R2, and could get to R1 in the next decade. Neither AF or Boise will.

Rice is also R1. SMU and SDSU are not, but SDSU is close. Wyoming has been close, but fell in the last rankings.

We could get to 10-12 with those teams. That’s probably not a conference that gets past $10M in media rights.

Tulane, UTEP, NMSU, UC Davis, Montana and Montana state complete the list of potential teams who are R1 and play football. Most of those I don’t think are really worthy of consideration.

If academics is Cal and Stanfords concern, they should schedule Harvey Mudd, Claremont and Cal Poly

They already sunk one conference with that arrogant fallacy
Cal and Stanford don’t get to make these decisions anymore. Go back to the lab and work on a cure for cancer or something, GTF out of the way and let some street smart people dig us out of the F’n hole you helped to dig.
