Baynes goes for 37 points and 16 rebounds including 9 3-pointers (!) as Phoenix beats the Blazers last night. I can't remember a Cougar not named Klay Thompson with a better offensive NBA game.

Baynes is a self made man, other than being a freak of nature on the size and strength front. If I have a rub regarding the Bennett coaching tenure it is their near complete failure to develop Baynes' skills. This is a guy who scored 19 in his first game as a Coug, straight off the boat, but was coached down to the point he didn't score that number again until he was a senior. System coaches, not recognizing and adjusting to the talent on hand. Sad! Sweet 16 was good, but we could have gone farther with some inside out action too.

I remember watching his workout tape after senior year and nailing jumper after jumper. I saw about 2 jumpers his entire career as a Coug. He was under utilized.
