Clifford/Izundu look like a big upgrade over what we have had in the middle. A lot of Boese highlights, says he has slimmed down. It's just 1 practice, probably not full speed, but we look more talented and balanced than last year even with the loss of Lacy.

Clifford looks a lot better than I expected and really so does Izundu. Not much of a look from Hawkinson, Que, or Ike in the video.

I agree with everything. The team does look faster. I think that may be because they know the system now and can just play instead of think. I really like EK.

I believe that the two seniors must become cheerleaders this year. The new guys have to assert themselves and add to the quickness and speed Connor and Callison look like sure starters Izundu will get his 15-20 minutes a game while the other jucos will get more minutes as they settle down and play to thier abilities.

Boese will continue to get solid minutes. He's too good of a shooter.

Boese was a terrible shooter in game situations i do not remember his stats but they significantly decreased once the conference season started.. He seemingly just does not possess the foot speed to play a decent defensive game. Likewise he was a terrible rebounder. Perhaps if his weight loss has solved these problems he may play. We shall see. One cannot give minutes to a player who cannot play defense or rebound.

Boese had some big shooting games in conference - especially in wins against Oregon and UW. Last year he shot the three ball extremely well until the mid point of the league season when he went cold and his minutes went down. He will play and play a lot if he can hit his shots.

El C, you obviously weren't watching last year during our wins vs. UW and UO. (Coach Dave was spot on). We don't win those games without Boese and his outside shooting. Check the stats if you don't believe me: Combined in those back-to-back games, he was 7-11 from 3 point range and scored 27 points. That's hardly " a terrible shooter in game situations", wouldn't you agree?

Boese and Hawkinson minutes went up a lot last season and I wonder if both had little bit of tired or dead legs as the year went on that impacted their deep shooting. A also think Boese getting slimmer and hopefully a a little quicker was a good move. I see Boese getting spot starts if other don't step up similar to last year but definitely an important player in the rotation either way. He's too good of a shooter.

I guess that we shall see. Kent has to make use of the talent available to him and he makes the decision.Do any of you Boese supporters know what his shooting percentages were last year?

Well for a matter of fact I do. His 3-point average was better than Lacy's and just a few hundredths away from Que's. Third on the team from 3 point land.

I thought that his 3 pt shooting went way down in PAC 12 play? The stats are availiable what are they?

His shooting stats did go down as the season wore on. I don't dispute that. But you claimed he was a terrible shooter in game situations. Clearly he was able to shoot very well in at least a few of those games including the wins over UW and UO...7-11 in 3-pt FGs.

Yep, I'm a Boese backer. I'm also a backer of everyone else on the roster and anyone that Coach Kent deems worthy of playing time.

Glad Cougar

I agree that Kent is the one to make the decisions. It looks like Kent gives everyone a chance but if they do not produce in crunch time, they will lose their minutes. The team has a lot of new talent and playing time will be alloted to the players who produce on both ends of the court.
