So with Bill Moos moving to Nebraska did Kent's seat get a little hotter? Not saying it did but his buddy is gone, he has thus far struggled, and usually new ADs like to put their stamp on things early on. I went to practice and I'm planning on going to one more since Franks and Flynn were with coach at media day. They are being touted as our two best players and Franks as being much improved, I hope so because from what I saw there are players with potential but they are along way from PAC 12 ready.

I would assume the rollovers will stop but Kent's due a lot money and we aren't running a surplus.

It doesn't sound like I really want to know but what did you think of the Bernstine, the 3 JCs, and the 3 redshirts?

Acquaah, Pollard and Daniels stood out the most. Ergas is athletic but looked lost most of the time. Cooper is very raw but big. Hinson looked ok but will need some adjustment time . Hard to tell from what I saw of Skaggs if he can shoot he might see the floor. Chidom moves well and has skill but got pushed around underneath. Bernstein was limited to mostly no contact drills but from what I saw of him when he played EWU the last few years I personally see him as a good Big Sky player if that translates to an average PAC 12 player I'll be happy. No one on this team is in the same league as Hawkinson!

Glad to hear that about Acquaah Daniels and Pollard. Doesn't surprise me. Flynn and Franks can play. Bernstein will help. Your thoughts on Chidum and Ergas also don't surprise me.

Kent is going to get a couple more years, I suspect.

Not sure anyone can get enough quality hoops recruits to Pullman, but this staff is the best positioned of any I can imagine to get maximize the situation. Its not about coaching. Lots of good x and o guys out there who couldn't approach 500 at WSU.

You have to be able to recruit an I thought the spring was a step in a better direction. Still positive but concerned at the same time. Good to hear Acquaah and Pollard stood out. I am still skeptical on Daniels but he certainly looks to have committed to S&C from what I have seen in photos. I just don't know if he translates to more than a decent 3-point shooter.

At this point I'll take raw if there is some upside with Hinson, Cooper, and Chidom. I see Chidom being similar to Cowgill. It will take him time to learn to play with contact. The Gittens loss is still huge. Still, just need to see some hope in terms of upside this year.

Daniels is under sized, but pretty athletic besides being a good shooter.
Im not sold he's a "good shooter" yet but he's going into his junior year and I could see that improve this year. I also haven't seen much of a mid-range, ability to finish in the lane or at the rim and he doesn't create for others. Could change again and doesn't mean he can't be a good rotation player. We need to get better around these solid players. Not sure that's the case but we will see.

Not talking Klay or Curry caliber, but he is a better shooter than either Ike or Callison were

Interesting report. I look forward to more reports to see how the team looks at full strength . I have not been a fan of Daniels but Kent stated that he had an outstanding summer. There are a lot of quality players 6 feet and under. I did not see the scrimmage but i still believe that there is better overall talent.going 10 deep. Jourdan appears to have a basketball background so it is good to hear from an interested poster. Please keep the reports coming.

I'm a fan of Daniels and all the players on the roster even when critical. You hope your wrong especially about players that seem like really good kids. Ike Iroegbu always had talent but I couldn't see him becoming a quality point guard. Faisal Aden drove me nuts. While he was always going to be a liability on one end he finally became prolific on the other end before going down to a knee.

I compared Patrick Simon's shooting to Brian Quinnett, until his first game I bought into Bryan Whitehead being the next Mark Hendrickson, and really wanted David Adams to become the next Eddie Hill.

I am glad Daniels is in the program and believe he's a solid piece on a good team. If we need him to start and consistently score that's a concern because I don't know that he has that kind of upside. Time will tell.

I was hoping to see Hinson part of the standing out group. If Gittens qualifies I'm feeling a lot different about the collection of guards we have on the roster.

Pretty much the same feelings as you about all those kids. I admit I am sometimes overly optimistic but I can also see obvious short comings. I was excited waiting for Woolridge to become eligible. First time I saw him in practice I was shocked at his shooting stroke. I still don't know how he shot as good as he did his first season.

I am hoping that a athlete like Ergas can beat out a Daniels for playing time.I am far away so i will make any practices. Depending on how well the cougs do in preseason,i may make a couple of their home games. I see where there is a practice scheduled on October 24 th. Is anyone here going to make this practice?

One hopes that" the whole is greater than the sum of it s parts".The opposite was true last year and some of the dysfunction, frustration,, and individual heroics will be gone from this team. That said ,i think there is better overall talent than last year s team spread ten deep.

No hot seats ... but more than likely no extensions without justification.

That is a fair approach and one which even Kent will not have a problem with. He is getting a little long in the tooth already and he may pull a Walter Cronkite before the contract runs out.

Daniels always looks extremely small on the court to me. I don't buy his listed height (or anything close to it for that matter). I would be very interested to see what he could do with some extended playing time. He's always had to play in fits and spurts so is never able to get into a rhythm.

The practice is free and open to the public and students. It starts at 8:30 PM in Pullman
