Certainly how I read it. He’s got a choice to make, continue on or start over. Would be ugly if he stands his ground too as I’d imagine there’d be a public legal standoff. He gets the shot or he get escorted out of the building by security.
Firing your HFC in October is not what you want. It could easily lead to things being worse than when turd was the coach.
3 coaches in 3 years.
Another round of kids transferring out with a new HFC.
Inconsistent schemes on defense all with diff kids/bodies recruited.
Negative recruiting.
Generally not looking good on the West Coast and nationally.
This isn’t good for Rolo or WSU.
I typed this just recently in another thread, applies here to.
Life is bigger than coug football.
Ya'll should simmer down and concern yourself with things you can control, it makes for a much better existence.
Yeah, I don’t disagree with you in general about your statement, but considering you are here and this news concerns our head coach’s potential short term future, I don’t really know what you expect. Imagine a UW fan saying the same thing about Chris Petersen considering retirement a couple of years ago…”it’s his personal business no need to discuss it here.” Sure…I typed this just recently in another thread, applies here to.

Maybe dont read a message board of passionate fans then?
Not really sure why he is still our head coach, and I really don't see dragging this on until October 18th. Where I work you will be terminated mid-September if you aren't fully vaccinated and sufficient time has passed to have antibody protection. As a smaller and smaller fraction of the population remains unvaccinated, and people are rushing to get boosters, this story is just going to get worse and worse for WSU. Just google "unvaccinated football coach" and all that comes up is Rolo and some NFL assistants that were fired months ago. If you enjoy this thread, and all the others over the past 2 months, then this season will be heaven, because we will be hearing about it non-stop.
Ah...passionate fans about what? Sure seems to me it is directing someone else's healthcare decisions, not Cougar football.Maybe dont read a message board of passionate fans then?

I see the biggest challenge being the short term. If he wins a year from now nobody will care. The problem I see with the publicity of this is the question about his future as a coach at WSU, and how that might impact a recruits decision. Recruits still commit to coaches, and this at least for now, is going to be used against him in recruiting battles…right or wrong, just reality. There’s no room at WSU to have a down year in recruiting for something that’s completely controllable. That’s a big part of what he makes $3 mill/yr for.The optics of this have been horrible since the start for the university. People nationally are starting to hear and read more about it. Not good.
Still the dumbest excuse for not getting the vaccine. There probably isn't a single person on this board who wasn't given a dozen mandatory shots as a kid. There isn't a single person on this board who lives in a place where it's legal to drive around without a seatbelt. There isn't a single person on this board who isn't required to have car insurance. We do all of these things because even if we don't like it.....we do it because it's the right fuggin' thing to do. Every country in the world mandates things onto their populations to deal with things that are determined to be of public concern.

Yes. It is not what you want to be in the news for.
There was a way to handle this and a way not to handle this. Rolo chose the wrong way. This could have been inhouse and not nearly as public or potentially messy.

Unless he has a legitimate medical exemption.Yep. This. WSU has zero margin of error in order to continue any football growth. Even if he wins, this will always be a black eye to the program while Rolovich is coach.
Still can't believe Chun gave him $3M/year either...
So based on this, I assume you do not support any criminal laws, do not support any restrictions on abortion, do not support the 13th Amendment (abolishment of slavery), do not support any rregulation or restrictions on drug or food safety (including any need for fda approval), etc.I‘m not fan of the state determining what is right or wrong Or what is best for a society. Pretty sure I’m not alone.
IF he does, then sure. But it would be fair to believe this would've been handled completely different were that the case.Unless he has a legitimate medical exemption.
There are also preachers that strongly encourage getting the vaccine, in summary you not only should care about yourself but others, to hide behind the religion excuse is a cop out. Here are words from one pastor:I saw on local news a preacher who’s entire sermon was in regards to people having the right to make personal decisions. Not sure where that fits in with the Bible but I digress. Anyhow, people who have never been to the church before were showing up and picking up his signed statements regarding that particular churches views on vaccine mandates that I assume will work as a religious exemption. Kind of chicken shit if Rolo goes that route in my opinion but there still looks to be an out.
Past vaccine mandates had universal approval or something close to it. In this situation, there is a huge swath of the population that doesn’t believe in a mandate. A lot of my vaccinated friends don’t believe in a mandate. There is no clear public policy. The legislature has not passed a law mandating it. What we have is one person, a governor but still a single person, threatening to terminate people if they do not take the shot he is mandating. Legal battles will be fought over all this and Rolo’s situation could well be one of them.
It very well could be. If he were to win in court what does he win? Will he be reinstated as the HFC?
When he looks for other coaching jobs, will this follow him?
maybe but there will be a legal battle over it. And if he decides not to get the vaccine how many presidents are going to look at a coach who walked away from their profession because he didn’t get vaccinated .He'll walk away with his buyout.
Correct. I don't support most of those. And slavery was state imposed. So based on this, I assume you do not support any criminal laws, do not support any restrictions on abortion, do not support the 13th Amendment (abolishment of slavery), do not support any rregulation or restrictions on drug or food safety (including any need for fda approval), etc.
Surely you don’t support any federal or state constitution in which the people give the state, through the elected representatives, any power to govern.
At least, if we are to take you at your word that you don’t want the state to determine what is right or wrong nor what is best for society. Surely you are consistent, and not selective, in such statement and presumed desire for anarchy?
He'll walk away with his buyout.
He will get jabbed. He won't jeopardize his career any more by not getting vaccinated. Unless he just wants to walk away with 4.8 (but will be contested) and start coaching at PLU as a position coach. Will he? How much if he is fired with cause?
How long before he gets another BCS head job?

Instead of having multiple threads and discussions about position battles, recruiting, schedule layouts, we're talking about the optics this close to a new season of a head coach who has made it more or less about himself.
"Check your egos at the door."
Unless he’s had an anaphylactic reaction to a previous vaccine, which would be extremely rare, there is no medical reason for him to not get vaccinated. For all of our sake, I hope that there is a medical reason for him not getting the vaccine.
Exactly: the state has no right to tell me I can’t cook meth and distribute it at grade schools, fire off my AK-47 indiscriminately in public spaces and play death race 2000 in the streets of my town.I‘m not fan of the state determining what is right or wrong Or what is best for a society. Pretty sure I’m not alone.
