How does Inslee’s mandate change things for Rolo

Citizens have rights and governments have powers. No right found in either the US. Constitution or the Washington State Constitution is being violated by this order. The only U.S. Supreme Court decision dealing with vaccine mandates is very old (1905) but it upheld the powers of the State of Massachusetts to require a vaccine for small pox. The Massachusetts action applied to everyone in the city of Cambridge. Inslee's mandate doesn't go anywhere near that far and just applies to public employees. His order is clearly constitutional. As I said before I don't want Rolo to get fired I do want him to stop being a free rider and recognize the need for everyone to help stop Covid. His latest comments are unnecessarily coy and do nothing to demonstrate the leadership he should be showing.

No his order is not constitutional and not for the reason, you, others have said.

The reason it's not constitutional, is because according to the constitution, it's not the Governor's Job to be a KING, DICTATOR, and MANDATE ANYTHING.

That power belongs to the CONGRESS, Legislature, to PASS, ENACT LAWS, BILLS, MANDATES.

The Governor's, USA Presidents Job is to SIGN already passed, enacted laws, bills, mandates, etc, into law, or Veto.

The Governor can on a temporary, limited, emergency basis issue executive orders, mandates etc.

But beyond that the Governor had to be given, delegated emergency powers, to do executive orders, mandates.

And if a Governor does a order,mandate, it has to be RATIFIED by the state legislature, congress.

Well that process has not been followed. The State Congress has not given the Governor any such emergency anti Covid powers to mandate, order anything.

And the Congress hasn't RATIFIED either his seizure of emergency power, an or his mandates, orders.

And this has been going on for 2 years.

If a Governor or President temporarily seizes emergency power, starts ordering, mandating, dictating, etc, without congressional authorization, that Governor or President can only do so for days, weeks, etc, not got years, and had to get congressional RATIFICATION for longer periods, etc.

So what the Governor is doing is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, but it's not just, only KING INSLEE, as a lot of Governors, USA Presidents from both parties, have been unconstitutionally mandating, etc

And they keep doing it because we don't stop them, and congress doesn't do anything to stop it, and because the Courts, Supreme Court don't BITCH SLAP them.

It's time the Congress stops this that's and time for the Courts, Supreme Court's to BITCH SLAP themz put them back into their place.

Now if the State Legislators either gives emergency power to Inslee, or RATIFIES his Mandates, then ok.

But until then Inslee is a King, Dictator, breaking the CONSTITUTION.

The only problem with this, is this is the answer Rolo should have said earlier.

If Rolo had from the very beginning, had not said that he is not getting Vaccinated, and had either said no comment like Anti Vax Mike Leach, or had said that he is complying with WSU's stance on vaccination(which means he could get a exemption, and not vax, etc), then he would not have offended, pissed off HALF the people, and would not have HURT RECRUITING, DONATIONS, CREATED A BAD OPTICAL LOOK, NEGATIVE PR, etc.

It is obvious there are religious and medical exemptions to vaccine mandates. These have been communicated at every step.

Those exemptions don’t mean anyone is exempt for whatever reason. Otherwise there would be no difference from the personal or philosophic exemption that were removed. Just as that exemption had been removed for MMR in 2019 in Washington after vaccination rates were below 90% and the resulting measles outbreaks from decreasing vaccination rates.

I personally don’t need to know your vaccination status. If you were an employee covered by a mandate, your employer would and you would need to follow the process to prove vaccination or the process for an exemption if applicable. Same as students need to for other vaccines (and WSU students also for this one). You don’t need to show such information for other medical information that is strictly personal.
