I am here at WSU today. Mourning for a minute... now ready to do battle.

How many years/times have we been bent over by the Pac? The opposition?

You know what? F*ck the world.

We are WSU. We will always be WSU.

Go Cougs!

P.S. Football team looked fantastic... energetic... ready

108 years and it's over.

Unless we find a home in the Big 12, ACC, or a miracle, a lot of jobs are going to be on the line.

Jobs not only in Pullman, but Tri-Cities, Everett and Spokane. Not just jobs tied to Athletics, but system wide.

Budget cuts everywhere.

Let's hope a setback is a setup, and this will set us up for the Big 12.

Branch campus funding is largely from their own enrollment, which is affected very little by athletics. I think Tri-Cities, Everett, and Vancouver are reasonably safe. Spokane has such an emphasis on health sciences that I don't think it'll be a major impact there either. Could be some issues in Pullman, but I think the impact of football on enrollment is overestimated. In a well-attended game, only about half of current students even show up, and they rarely stay.

And the last apple cup
No. Both Presidents, both AD’s, and the Governor has said and declared today that the Apple Cup will continue.

Game will most likely be played in September.

COUGS have nothing to lose.
Dawgs have everything to lose.

Time to build Ellensburg.

I haven't seen anything from WSU or the governor on this, source/link?

Nothing in writing, yet. Tomorrow, press conference.

Also, the AC is the least of my worries.

$4M to $8M in revenue a year is. Especially with $100M in financial debt.

Sure hope a miracle happens with WSU, OSU, Stanford and Cal. Otherwise, we'll need a state government bailout.

Arizona, ASU and Utah are going to the Big 12.

Where are you even seeing AC rumblings? UW should pound sand. I couldn't care two sh*ts about keeping the Apple Cup. This whole phony "keep the whole state together" garbo shouldn't exist.

Chun and Schulz could gain the smallest ounce of my respect by no longer playing UW. And that sadly could be the best thing they would've done in their tenure. Instead, what will happen is they'll smile and discuss how it's "so important" these two programs still play each other, while getting bent over the barrel.

I think everyone here is tuned in and understands the ramifications of the slash in budget.

I will definitely miss the last game of the season being Apple Cup. However, if it is played earlier in the season we have a better shot of making the game competitive with weather and depth not nearly as big a factor.

Obviously, we all hoped things would work out for the conference. It would make things much simpler moving forward at least short-term. However, when SC/UCLA left for the B1G I think we all knew it was just a matter of time.

Yes. UW would eat their cake AND have it, too. I wouldn't play into their hands.

Money will win out though and we will play them just so we can get a decent paycheck.

I still just can't believe uw and Whoregon would jump for the money. Like they don't have enough now?

If you think the game moving to September will make it more competitive, wait until you see what the roster looks like after all the legit D1 talent hits the portal.

If the Governor says the ac will continue, that’s one reason to believe it won’t.
