I don't like our offense. Maybe that isn't controversial here, but I just don't like how it is constructed.

Too much dribbing. Too much standing around. Thus, too many scoring droughts.

To me, the best offenses are about passing over dribbling. The Ralph Miller teams of yesteryear come to mind. Also, anyone watch Bellermine at work on offense? It is amazing and fun and highly entertaining. It is a thing of beauty.

I didn't know people tracked pass-dribble ratios. What a great stat.

Anyway, coach Smith knows far more about basketball than I'll ever know, but man, I'd love to see more Bellermine offense and less current Wazzu offense going forward. I don't like our offense.

Here's a nice short video on Bellermine's offense...

We don’t have an offense. This is sixth grade AAU stuff.

Throw it all out and start over. A simple pass and screen away 80’s motion offense would get better looks than this junk.

Still, despite the offense, we would have won last night if our perimeter D was competent. Do they not help each other because they don't know how?

I have concerns about the talent for point scoring, as in we are developing but not there yet. I think that is a talent issue. It seems to me where the coaching breaks down is on the big men. The coaching of the big men seems to be ineffective.

What is on the players themselves is that they have to decide that each minute they play is important. They bigs can't just oompa loompa their way through the game and then decide to use their size later on when they want to turn it on. I want to see a killer attitude from the get go. Smart aggressive defensive and smart aggressive offense. Not passive d and hesitant o.
