Oh boy. Let's get the bloodsucking leeches (lawyers) involved. Fun times. You ever had a leech clam onto you? I have. Those suckers suck hard and pulling them off is a bitch.May force us into a P5 to keep ESPN/FOX from being drug through mud and regulated in Upcoming realignments. It’s being hinted that Cal and others may be prepping for this route and that many a lawyer are happy to take this on.
Which wife was this?Oh boy. Let's get the bloodsucking leeches (lawyers) involved. Fun times. You ever had a leech clam onto you? I have. Those suckers suck hard and pulling them off is a bitch.
No I mean literally a leech, out of the creek. Those green bastards would glom onto you and start sucking until you yanked them off. You city slickers have no clue.Which wife was this?
What the F is that dude? Keep that shit off this board."Lawsuits? We're talking about lawsuits??!!" 🤣 We all know the way to get what you want here. Grease a few palms, make sure it's the right palms though. Then all of a sudden we'll be hearing how great an addition Monty Moneybanks... Uhhh I mean Washington State is. The stadium isn't small, it's quaint and scenic.
Also, most academic types have no idea how the real world of business negotiations works. No doubt the attorneys are and will be involved.
Not only attorneys see an opportunity, but someday, there will be a movie or documentary made on the demise of the Pac-12.
I've also realized how essential, critical and imperative it is to have the right skillset for an executive leader, president, or chancellor to successfully negotiate a complex, once in a lifetime media deal.
Just because someone has a title, or your boss is at the top of the Org Chart, doesn't mean he's good at negotiating a critical media deal.
What the F is that dude? Keep that shit off this board.
No. We should gladly take that afterthought of an invite and make those c-suckers come to Pullman and stick our foot up all of their arrogant asses for the next decade just like we have the last decade. Hell we are 4-4 and could easily be 6-2 against the Ducks the last 8, you think they aren’t happy AF they never have to see Pullman again? We take the money and merge with the MWC, we are the ones with the Target, and quite frankly, we’re going to have the same resources as everyone else, so there’s no reason to think that we will come in and be the conference bully.Great. So a P5 conference will reluctantly add us because of pressure applied and then find another, legal way to part ways with us downstream.
Screw it all. We should ask for a $100M golden handshake, pay our debts, and join the MWC. FCs the super conferences.
My guess is there are very few generation Z members on this board. Not even many millenials. You're talking to late Boomers and Gen X here. That is one called Allen Iverson , dude. One of the best scorers in the NBA in the 2000's. The other is Tiny Toons, one of the best cartoons of the 90's. Ten years ago people were making fun of my generation, we probably deserved it. Now it's time for me to see all that flipped on you Gen Z'ers.
Why so serious?
At least they've dropped the charade and are directly talking about the networks calling the shots... if this is to be believed.
Why would WSU continue to support ESPN in any way?Hell with the lawsuit, take what money we can get, merge the entire MWC into the Pac 12 (or now 18) and save the Pac 12, the automatic bid, until 2026 when the Big 10 and SEC claim they each deserve 4 teams, Big 12 wants 2. . As for the schools that left us, don't play them for a few years, make them travel somewhere further away, it's what they asked for.
And one more thing, whenever game day is in the Big 10 or Big 12, or SEC put a middle finger on the Flag.
Millenial here.My guess is there are very few generation Z members on this board. Not even many millenials. You're talking to late Boomers and Gen X here.
Because unfortunately it is TV money that keeps WSU athletics afloat, God knows fans don't contribute enough or buy enough season tickets, which is the case for most universities. As much as I share your dislike for ESPN, without them WSU athletics doesn't survive. Why would WSU continue to support ESPN in any way?
I know that flag blasphemy will leave a mark.
AS is Fox, the Big went to them last week and asked if the could bump; the share a bit for Oregon and Washington, they said yes. Big 12 did the same thing, it has ESPN an Fox, they had to call them to make a deal. The networks are running college football right now, and have been for a while. Someone inside the networks doesn't like us, or they have plans for another deal.ESPN is seriously culpable here. They are pulling the strings behind the scene.
Then it’s your fault.Millenial here.
Now I'm old enough to blame the Gen Z-ers!!Then it’s your fault.
Every generation blames the one before. - Mike & the MechanicsNow I'm old enough to blame the Gen Z-ers!!
Great band.Every generation blames the one before. - Mike & the Mechanics
Actually, you can just blame Gen X. There aren't that many of us, Boomers blamed us for everything, and, well...we don't care.
If there’s anything here, would have to think the programs and networks “settle” (not sure if the right word in this case) and take the hit in lieu of bad publicity and a lawsuit dragging them through the mud.
Believe this is more of a bluff to help all four schools find a spot in P5. You do that, it probably goes away.Certaintly don’t have the details but in this instance you have to essentially claim wrongful termination I’m assuming Apple isn’t happy either. If anything you get a settlement agreement and maybe some dollars.
This guys speculation has less value considering that he doesn’t even know that the teams that left can’t attend the meeting.
Great time to start playing serious poker when you’re down to your last couple of chips.Believe this is more of a bluff to help all four schools find a spot in P5. You do that, it probably goes away.
