Much better execution than the other night. Bonton actually had a very good game once he got three of his turnovers out of the way in the first few minutes. Double-double to go along with 6 assists. I didn't hear how badly Shead is hurt, but the Cougs will need Bonton, Robinson, Noah Williams, and perhaps Ryan Rapp to step up. For the second straight game, WSU turnovers were too high (16). But Coach Smith explained in his post game interview that the team was playing way too tentative on offense earlier this season, which resulted in very few turnovers but not real good shots. So they are making more aggressive passes and plays which has boosted the shooting percentage but also has increased the turnovers. He can live with that. Other notable tonight, an incredible 53-27 edge in the rebounding department. Incarnate Word is not a good team, but the Cougars did what they had to.
I wonder if Daron Henson is ever going to get into a game again this year? He can't redshirt again and if he isn't going to play with a 30-point lead late in the game, when will he? At the end, Smith had the 4 freshmen (Williams, Rodman, Rapp, Markovetskyy) in with Tony Miller.
Glad Cougar
