Just got a notice on my phone that we've offered Isaac Davis 2024 PF out of Idaho. There are some highlights out there but I couldn't figure out how to link them. Big boy.

Interesting comments in that thread. Comparison to Yoeli Childs (BYU) although a raw version at this point. Looks like a good prospect.

They offered another Idaho player recently as well. A 6'7" guard named Jackson “Big Rass” Rasmussen.
Mormon kid could be tough to beat out BYU. However, that's how they got Gueye. Got on him early and stuck with him even when he had injuries.Interesting comments in that thread. Comparison to Yoeli Childs (BYU) although a raw version at this point. Looks like a good prospect.

Yeah, going against BYU is a tough hill to climb for LDS athletes but good we have identified him early.Mormon kid could be tough to beat out BYU. However, that's how they got Gueye. Got on him early and stuck with him even when he had injuries.

Could just be coincidence but suddenly we seem more active with players closer to home. Could just be some targets have appeared closer vs. further away at the moment.
I'm a "between the lines" reader, and that's risky. Leads to conclusions that simply aren't there. It definitely could just mean these players happed to pop up and so we offered and nothing more.Usually, closer to home players are not as good as further from home players, because WA, ID does not produce as many good players as So Cal other places.
There are exceptions to that rule. This recruit is a exception to that rule, and because the closer players are turning out to be good, better, semi best players as a exception to how things are normally, then Smith, WSU, are offering these semi local, closer players.
Not to rain on the stereotypes, but not all Mormons are robots. We recently had a guy in the football department that didn't exactly fit that bill.
I'm wondering if he didn't have many other options (army, work farm). And he went to BYU
It's all about PT.Yeah, going against BYU is a tough hill to climb for LDS athletes but good we have identified him early.
