FIRE KENT NOW!

Wow. There are some very interesting things about Tramaine Isabell in the story you linked.

Yes it does. it also makes one wonder how and why the past coach may have been involved in this potential mess. I wish Isabel well and i hope he succeeds at old missou. However,i saw a video of Isabel and i wondered about his priorities.Kent cleared the deck of all the stuff of the old regime. It was leading to a bad place in trying to win at all costs. I believe that Kent is sincere in wanting to recruit good people s well as good athletes and basketball players. It is time to buy all new basketballs for the program.

Bone and Curtis.Allen had to know about these shenanigans.

Oh, and the Ballmwr does hints, I would forget about the Clippers ever being very good in the future under his ownership. Sleazy and heavy-handed.

Yes this comes as shock to the past regime's supporters. They were using the departure of Isabel as one of the hammering points against Kent.. Remember many of the comments about being mad if they found out that Isabel had qualified.Where are these posters now? Now the" splaining" will come as they stir from their shock. I believe that WSU may have dodged a bullet on this one

Isabell came with risks but who knows whether they are real? In this story he was more pawn than anything else but I hope he moves forward and things work out for him. He just seemed to have too much baggage for us at this point.

It's the "adults" I have difficulty understanding in this story although this kind of things is all too common.

Not really sure a bunch off rich guys using thier money to manipulate high school basketball should be used against a kid/ player. Isabel was the victim here not the villain. It's funny how people wanted to slam Garfield because Isabel went there, when the real corruption was at the richy rich Lilly white prep school that used money and influence to lure kids to there sports programs. Isabel has qualified is a very good player and would have been a great addition to WSU basketball. Do we stop recruiting players who transfer schools looking to improve thier recruiting? It's unfortunately part of the recruiting scene right now. Many, if not the majority of basketball recruits are doing this. On our roster alone we have Ike, Que, Redding and Dunbar. All of these basketball factory type schools you can bet has big money behind them somewhere and most are at least skirting the line when it comes to rules.

You may be right.however.let us see how he does in his academics. He was a willing pawn and if he did not study as the article implies, then how did he become eligible?. I suspect that the NCAA will keep close tabs on Isabel. I,for one ,am glad that Kent let him go. He is a big risk in more ways than one. This may be the tip of the iceberg ,so to speak.

El....Dodged what bullet? Are you that naive to believe this

doesn't happen all the time? I have a friend that coached at Lakeside, and he said the opportunity that is afforded to kids of diverse background has an impact that goes way beyond the four years they spend on campus. Can you imagine the connections these kids now have?

You do get this happens at every level of the sport. So he didn't meet their original entrance requirements. Neither did Leon Bender for the Cougs, or so many other Cougs that didn't meet university entrance requirements. They were given a pass.

So I guess I fail to see where the bullet was dodged.

i guess that if one is a friend of the old coach, one may say that it was business as usual. However, one wonders how isabel became eligible. If he was not going to class, how did he pass?. How did he pass his ACT? These are troubling questions. I may surmise, wrongly or rightly, that Kent started looking into the matter, and said, no thanks. The sugar daddy here is a multi billionaire and one wonders how he influenced things. If this article spurs an investigation, then the mess will be something that Kent wants no part of.The WSU basketball program cannot afford to run into trouble at this point. The depleted roster, the poor coaching job and the subsequent dismal fan attitude cannot afford another potential black eye.

The article does raise some legitimate questions about how he became eligible.

Or El...

The fact I know KB has nothing to do with business as usual. This happens all the time. It is AAU that runs basketball.

But be clear, TI went to Garfield and that means not only would Lakeside need to be complicit but a public school was as well. They fixed his grades, then you ACT/SAT folks involved as well assuming he has the proper entrance exam score.

To summarize, you have Lakeside who kept him eligible, then he transfers to Garfield and they graduate him, then a third entity gets him to pass the standardize test.

While I fully believe he was probably guided through the Lakeside program, I don't think Garfield graduates him without having enough credits. But I could see them moving him through the system as well. But how does a rich guy make it so he passes his ACT/SAT?

But how does any of this fall on his next coach, whether it was Bone or Kent? He had enough credits to graduate, and per a sliding scale he met entry requirements.

I guess that you gave the standard response. But one wonders if there were shenanigans going on?It is not unheard of to have stand-ins in taking the ACT/SAT classes. It also helps to have teachers, for whatever reasons, who are sympathetic to the "student athletes". I am not saying that any of this occurred but if these things were arranged, then the prospective " student athlete" may well not be prepared for college. As,i stated earlier,it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I am asssuming that Kent knew something was amiss and pulled the plug before things came down. The past coach was in desperate straits to keep his may have compromised a bit? Anyway it is good that you are posting again as different perspective makes things interesting
