I doubt we'll score 35 on ISU. Not sure how they'll do vs our offense. Not close to 44 though. That would make them better than any offense we faced in the Pac12.
No, it’s a consolation game after a long layoff. I can see it becoming a high scoring dome game.

This Cal / TCU game isn’t a consolation game. Both teams are fortunate to be there.
I worry about our teams attitude after the crushing Apple Cup game. Impossible to predict. We’ll see how they respond.
My brain says ISU 28 Cougs 24 but my heart says Cougs 35 ISU 17 so I'll so with that. My brain has never been dependable.
34-21 Cougs sounds about right for me. Since I'm stealing your pick I should at least add how I think it will happen.
ISU gets off to a good start as they rely more on the running game and WSU is off a bit with their passing offense.
Cougs defense holds them in the game and it's close at half with WSU down by 7 or less.
Coug offense gets into gear in the 2nd half including two 4th quarter touchdowns and win by almost two TDs. First time in school history with 11 wins.

Cal and Wyoming are a few spots behind and managed to score 13 and 19 points against WSU..... so, ISU will score somewhere in the neighborhood of 17-21 points.
Iowa State is #33 in total defense, a couple spots behind us. Cal, Utah and Wyoming are all 10+ spots ahead of Iowa State. We scored 19,28,41 points against those 3. We’ll score somewhere between 24 and 38 points.

Now, some may look at the Will Grier shut down by ISU as proof of their defense, but I’m not so sure.... Will Grier had 100 passing yards against the #62 passing defense. Something was weird about that game and undoubtedly an anomaly.

Where is this narrative coming from? The ISU fans? The "we held them below their scoring average" fans? I took it as truth because everyone has been parroting it over and over, but here's the real number:
Against the B12s most prolific passing offenses gave up 37 and 42 points. In those games, they faced the number 100 and 108 defenses.
Best vs best, this is a run away win for the Cougs.
