I wonder if Cohesive Diarrhea will show up today to talk sh!t.
Peterson is a great coach, but his system also has a ceiling. His teams have no offensive identity. They can win a lot of games by having more talent than 9 teams on their schedule, but they’ll always sputter in a few games/year. Too much misdirection and an over emphasis on balance.
In tight games, when a play needs to be made, they don’t know who they are. Unfortunately for WSU, they’ve left us in the dust to begin every apple cup, which plays right into their hands.
Just pointing out that a “great” coach cannot lack identity.
Whaaaaaattttt!!!????????? 4 star receivers drop balls?CP said Eason throws the ball too hard. Blaming the drops.

Maybe Petey is too busy enjoying the view from his boat on the commute to the Dump on the Swamp to think about coaching the bad habits out of his QB.CP said Eason throws the ball too hard. Blaming the drops.

Leach >>>Peterson
After the 50 yard FG the UW seemed to think the game was over and Cal would roll over. Cal obviously had other intentions. Also, the 3rd and goal looked like a TD but I guess they didn't have more angles than they showed on TV.
I'm not much of a USA Today fan but the "Four More in Misery" caught my attention.

Petersen, as Leach has, has done an excellent job. But, that is just it, he has done basically the same job as Leach. WSU is not mentioned as a play off contender and neither should the uw. After yesterday's game, excluding the games played against each other, WSU has a five game lead over the uw in conference games since 2015.Nice share, going to paste this from the article if you don't mind:
"Washington: It’s completely legitimate to look at Chris Petersen’s tenure as a big success, having reached three consecutive New Year’s Six bowl games (including one Playoff berth) along with top-15 finishes. At the same time, the Huskies seem to carry around a whiff of fraudulence. They rarely beat anyone good and pretty consistently drop one or two games a year against pretty mediocre opponents while everyone acts as if it’s a shock. But at this point, it’s not a shock that Washington lost to California, 20-19, in a game that was delayed 2 1/2 hours due to severe weather. While the circumstances of the game were odd, the problem was predictable — the Huskies’ offense turned the ball over twice and settled for four field goals after long drives. For Washington, a team many people had pegged into this year’s Playoff, this one goes right alongside losses last season to Oregon and Cal (again) in which its offense just wasn’t good enough and 2017 when the Huskies removed themselves from Playoff contention with losses to unranked Arizona State and Stanford. Any top program can get caught on a given day, but the really elite programs don’t make it a trend. At Washington, it’s happened with regularity, so perhaps it's time to stop expecting the Huskies to get back into the Playoff."

Someone never told Elway that. Glad to see the Mutts puke all over themselves however.I think there’s some truth to that, honestly. It’s one thing to have a strong arm, but throwing the most catchable ball for the specific play is what makes a consistently great QB.

It clearly looked like a TD and should have been called that way on the play. On 2nd down Garbers positioned for the FG and didn't go forward to try to take more time off the clock. On 3rd down the running back started doing the same thing and then seemed to realize nobody was really around him and looked for space to score. Cal went a little too cautious on 2nd and 3rd down. Not only was the TD not called but it made the FG try a lot harder because of the angle with a left-footed kicker. That non-TD call on the play before Cal's last FG was pure Pac 12 replay BS. Not sure what "angle" they need when a player's body is half way over the goal line and he is on top of another player. Really glad that Cal was able to kick the FG and UW did not some squirrel into a game winning FG of their own after that, but none of that should have been in play as it was a TD pure and simple.
I think Petey made a mistake in not bringing Harsin with him. BSU's offenses seem ok.Peterson is a great coach, but his system also has a ceiling. His teams have no offensive identity. I haven’t seen anyone blaming the weather. Though I believe Cal cleverly scheduled the game in our home stadium as opposed to Ellensburg.Because Little Peter is the best coach ever and Eason is the best QB ever....
