some people just want to find any reason to be angry/ upset/ dissatisfied.

These are the same people that found nits to pick during GM's run.

These are the same people that can't sit back and enjoy a win, even if its ugly. Instead they want to point out the warts and dwell on them, making sure to focus on it to the point of eliminating any chance of enjoyment by anyone else too.

No one is under the delusion that this team is a world beater, but for fck sakes we just watched two incredibly entertaining football games that just so happened to conclude with OUR COUGS having more on the scoreboard than the other team. It was absolutely AWESOME to watch this team mature and see JDL start to do the the EXACT THING that we've been harping on him for - making some of those deep passes.

"but.. but... he threw into double coverage!" yup, and put it on an outside shoulder where only the WR could get it.

"but... but... the other teams are crappy" possibly the weakest attempt to disparage a win there ever was. I won't even dignify it with a response.

We're gonna lose some more games, and it'll probably be frustrating. Hell, I though we were in for it early in the Furd game. But imho this team has given Coug fans that old timey feeling where we feel like we have a punchers chance in every game, and in light of all the circumstances, that's a hell of a thing.

I’m in 100% agreement with you but some people just need to be proven wrong until that moment comes when they can say they were right.

This team is awesome to watch, playing great, as a team, and they are exciting to watch. And it could all come crashing down due to Covid related issues, not the illness but the vaccine mandate. One count that gets very little attention is Covid has destroyed many peoples lives that never got sick. I hope it doesn’t destroy this team, the last 3 weeks have been fun to watch.

man, I'm bummed that you drug that topic into this thread.

They are certainly playing inspired football right now. I hope it continues and we destroy the puppy Dawgs in the Apple Cup. Maybe the Apple Cup will have more meaning with a P12 North Title on the line. I know I am getting ahead myself saying that but who knows?

Kind of crazy to think this is the best I've felt about the AC since the recent Slush Bowl; was that Gardner or Gordon?

Gordo? I think GM got cold and rain in Seattle if memory serves.
Minshew was QB in the snow in Pullman. Spoke with Rosenbach a bit after that game and he told me that the Apple Cup performance cost GM a lot of money. Said the NFL wants guys that can play in any weather. That they don’t always know if a guy can handle the snow and cold or not, but when they see that they can’t the QBs stock drops.

For what it's worth, that 2018 AC didn't have just a little bit of snow. It was a lot of snow that was blinding when it fell most heavily, with wind, and formed a really heavy slush / crust mix that was impossible for anyone to move in with any kind of predictability, and all somewhat out of nowhere after the weather not being bad all week prior (or, for that matter, as soon as the game ended). GM had never played in snow before at any level, IIRC, let alone that slush / crust fest, and it wasn't around all week to prep, either. Just really sucked that it was the hand mother nature dealt that particular day.

And made Drew a lot of money.

I watched on TV, and I was certain ahead of time we would win... until I saw the forecast turn to snow, then to full-on milkshake. Air Raid is a timing offense; if you can disrupt it (snow) before you even take the field, the edge is gone. Then it came down to who could control the LOS... which we obviously couldn't.

I believe that was the year we got jobbed vs SC, but looked to climb into the Top 5 with an AC win IIRC. Our strongest Leach team ever. Needless to say, instead of going Top 5, we were left with a handful of excuses, which our opponents wouldn't accept even if they were true.

Yeah, same year. 11-2 with the two losses the controversial SC Woodie Dixon loss and the AC loss that I agree was unlikely (even if quite possible) with just about any other kind of weather. Amazing to think we were that close to being in the playoff.

And it started right before kick off and ended right when the game was over.
