Another "Set-Back is a Set-Up" story...Setting-Up for something BETTER ~ story.

Pretty interesting. Cr8zncalif you had made reference in your post regarding Jack Wilson on Sunday....

It would be interesting to see some film of him in practice and much he can get his butt down during plays. I thought it was amazing seeing Jonathan Ogden play with UCLA against ASU live. I focused on him the entire game knowing his story and given the fact that UCLA sucked at the time there was nothing else to focus on, . Ogden was able to get down to the pad level of 6'-3" guys. Not comparing the 6-11 guy who has never played football to a Hall of Famer, but wondering if he has really good pad level for his height and some decent leg strength.

Seems too tall for OLine.

imagine him as a goalline tight-end though. Or maybe even on third and short. Just lob it up to Big Jack!

Think of him on the FG defense. I remember Cody Boyd blocking some kicks, he was “only” 6’8”.

Thinking of his height as an EDGE too. If he’s within 5 yards of the QB with his hands up, it takes away 1/3 of the field.

I call bs on 325 lbs. He looks to be maybe 300... and thats a big maybe.
I was at last Saturday's practice and don't think 325 is a stretch. It was a "no pads" practice so a bit hard to make any kind of judgement on how he'd fare as a starting LT, but he sure seems to move well.

Yes, he just started lifting weights after his basketball career. Don't know what 325 looks like on a 6-11 guy, but he's not skinny. Even that Steve Grogan like neck looks bigger. Good to know he moves well. Did autocorrect really put an n instead of b on bigger?

Tackles and tight ends would cut him like a tree though.

I think about boxers with reach. If that guy is strong enough and can move well he would wear a d lineman out trying to get around him all game. You’re taking the scenic route on every play. Huge holes to run through by the 4th quarter.

The young man has self discipline (obviously works out pretty religiously), has good feet and seems relatively bright. The question in my mind is whether he can learn/absorb/develop technique fast enough to be relevant. If he had at least 3-4 years football experience this would be a completely different conversation.

I kind of like the thought of him in Leach's old "Ogre" power line configuration as one of the ends...which also makes him pass eligible. Can you imagine defending him? I'd almost expect him to absorb one DL whose sole job would be to keep him from getting 4-5 yards deep for a pass.
