Sure hope this is true as EK needs something to smile about. Funny tho how few JC's over the years have turned into being great WSU players. However, there have been a few in years gone past.

Might be an interesting strategy. Grab 5 or 6 JC's a year.

Still dont think it is the best long term stratrgy but in todays world the old formula doesnt work of bringing in a bunch of young guys and let them grow up

The years of losing basketball games at WSU may have taken a toll on my memory, but here is a list of the players that Ernie Kent has recruited to his rosters (as best as I can remember - in no particular order).

Izundu C left team
Bernstein F eventual starter
Hinson F left team
Skaggs F C
Acquuah G left team
Ergas G left team
Clifford C eventual starter
Chidom F
Pollard F
Flynn G left team
Langston F left team
Franks F eventual starter
Daniels G eventual starter
King F left team
Suggs G left team
Davis G left team
Dunbar G left team
Cheatum F left team
Redding G left team

19 recruits — 7 continue in the program, 12 have left the program -- around 63%

Wade F
Robinson G
Ellerby F
Kunc F
Cannon F
Ali G
Streeter C

If history repeats, which 4 will leave?

Pretty good memory. Only one I can think of that you missed is Callison. Also, I would discount the first 4 guys who were clearly bottom of the barrel late recruits in Kents first year. I think we keep at least 5 of these kids, but you never know in todays world.

There are several teams which have lost 6-7 players in one year. Kent has to be evaluated in the win-loss category. He has to produce a winning team this year. The recruited jucos are the players who have to produce for this to happen

New Juco's rarely do all that well in year number uno as it takes a while to produce and adapt to the speed of Division one.

That is probably true for the lower rated jucos. However,i see this group along with the returning players melding quickly and winning games

Over the years the better jc kids have contributed early, even if they did prove a lot the second year. Examples, Aden, Antrum, Harris, Derrick, Lewis. I think there have been several others but amount of early contribution is a matter of opinion.

Not projecting on this group, just saying its not totally rare.

On paper I like the group coming in. Flynn is a big loss but overall I think the additions make up for the loss if we find a leader at the point. There isn't a Terrence Lewis in this bunch but Lewis was rated the top JC in the country at the time.

At this point I am optimistic but understand we still are likely an under .500 type program who will struggle to finish above 11th.

Yeah any of these incoming JC's played with Ike Fontaine, Donminick Ellison, Mark Hendrickson, Carlos Daniel, Traveres Mack I can see how the transition would be easy.
