Jean Montero (DR) 2022 PG

PG from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (same city as Rosario). Listed at 6'2" but hard to tell. He has a Miami offer. Looks like a good shooter with range and like Rosario has been described seems to have some defensive desire.

Anyway, some to maybe watch for if we can get his attention (@Andrzejek follow).

You would have to think that landing Rosario gives WSU a better than usual shot at this guy. Man, following Cougar basketball recruiting these days is a lot more exciting than it has been in years.

Yup, which is the biggest reason I posted about him even though there's no offer yet or necessarily mutual interest. Having another player from the DR and his "hometown" can't hurt. He's also a position of need even 2 years out and seems pretty talented.

I think it is possible that Smith is going to be picky on who he offers, as they now only have one or two scholarships available. But, the team is mostly his recruits now. Of course, another player can leave after next season. They are also going hard after PG Nolan Hickman from Sammamish. Perhaps if Hickman chooses elsewhere, they may offer Montero, .

Hickman's 2021. Montero and Koren Johnson (Garfield & reported offer) are 2022. I think the next couple years are going to be interesting. Not everyone is going to stick for 4 years. A lot should shakeout next year (if we have a season).
