He was committed to St Johns and is now reopening his recruitment. Look for udub to make a huge push for the 6'8 PF

Looked over on brandx to see what they were saying about Brooks. Interesting posters have him more around 6'6" but that's hoops.

Came across a Riley Sorn post that said he has offers from St. Mary's, WSU, and GU interest. Sorn apparently said he is not going to WSU but "working out details" at the UW apparently as a walk-on. From a basketball perspective I think St. Mary's would give him the best shot. I question the UW or GU simply due to their need and the amount of time they would give him as a project.

In terms of the relative desirability we unfortunately are not exactly shining at the moment in comparison. Wish him well wherever he ends up. Sounds like a great kid.

Interesting, but not surprising. When Bone recruited Josh Hawkinson he had a WCC offer. Cougs were honest with him and told him they were going to red shirt him. They didn't think they would get him. He signed anyway and it worked out pretty well for Josh. Probably should have red shirted him, just like we should have Franks, Motum, and even Cowgill

Sorn should go to WSU,.To me ,it sounds like a perfect fit,but his mom for some reason thinks that udub is the place for him. He had an "official visit "there some time back. I believe that she may be a WSU graduate. Her future son in law may be resigning with the cougs after his stay at a juco.

I remember he was interested in aeronautical engineering so that may be the uw angle.

He’ll be on SWX tomorrow night at 7:30 for those in Eastern Wa going up against g prep and Gonzaga U bound Anton Watson.

The current staff has no history developing bigs. Sorn would waste four years at WSU. St Mary’s or Gonzaga both emphasize bigs in their system and have proven they can develop big guys.

Ask the big from the Hood River area (white salmon?) that went to GU how much they develop bigs.

A lot of players transfer out at GU because they just aren't talented enough and at some point they want to have a shot to play. A program like St. Mary's has more motivation to put in the time necessary to develop someone like Sorn. So does WSU although with the current style I am not really sure where Sorn would eventually fit.

I would love it if Sorn committed to WSU. As an interested observer, fan, and WSU graduate, i wish the best for the team. The coaches realize that they need an inside presence both on offense and defense.

Really thought Hawkinson, Franks, and Cowgill would have benefited from a redshirt. Only issue with Hawkinson redshirting would have been if they tried to put a lot of weight on him like I heard was the plan from different posters. Cowgill would have redshirted if it weren't for other injuries his first couple years.

Such is life.
