Kent makes staff changes

Interesting. One wonders if this is Kent s total decision or did Moos nudge him in that direction? It should have happened after last year.I would have gotten rid of Allen last year also.How this will reflect on recruiting remains t be seen. I have seen where Kent seems to be more involved in recruiting and is hitting the road more often. This is a pivotal year and if he is going to right this ship,changes are/were necessary.
I would have expected it a year ago. I was pretty surprised he went this way given the overall age of the staff. Not sure how this pays off this year with 3 to give unless a player is somehow involved with someone coming on the staff. Would think Moos 'nudged' to make this change since it is both of the older assistants.
We will see how this plays out and how quickly they hire. I wonder if one of the assistants coming in might fit in the future as a head coach? Lots of questions.

Yes and if they can hire a coach who can bring a top recruit with him,it would help in year three. The program needed to bring in a couple of younger coaches to help with the recruiting.The older guys just cannot connect with the players. Kent can serve as the elder mentor but he needs younger coaches to relate to the players.It is an interesting turn of events.I saw a terrible list of potential coaches and i hope he hires other coaches than the ones on the list.
My long shot is someone like a Luke Jackson who could end up the coach in waiting. He's young and is getting some talk for Portland State. Why not give it a shot if he would consider it? I don't know how good he is but that he's had quick success as a head coach.
Yes they should hire a young assistant head coach who would be the head coach in waiting for about 3 years.
Well Kent will have time and the opportunity to talk to a few of these coaches. Lets hope that they can bring in a couple of top recruits with them.
