I have no illusions Porter comes to WSU but the only reason we are mentioned is the staff. From the front page article:

Washington State: “They have been on me but they recently picked up coach (Ed) Haskins from Garfield; I have a great relationship with him. We have a big Garfield-Rainier rivalry. I know somebody that is there and I feel like it could just adapt me and teach me some things if I was to go there.”

I know investing in hoops is important and we are way behind but for us it's still about the staff. We probably won't get Porter even if we had charter flights and the best facilities in the country but to get in the door and mentioned is still important. That's what a well put together staff can do.

I agree that it will be hard to get players out of Seattle. However,recruiting can be all about relationships and how a player will fit into a program.

With the recent AC hires, Kent just might have turned the corner. Porter very well could be a Coug.
