Back in the portal. Probably needs to go small conference like Big Skyish or D2 and focus on his education. Not significant playing time at SMU who was not a good team.

Attitude and IMHO most Canadians are vastly overhyped in basketball

Not always over rated, Steve Nash, Andrew Wiggins, Jamal Murry, just a few examples of many Canadians that did well. Much of it is work ethic, and coaching, not sure how hard Koulibaly worked at it. He didn't have the patience to wait around, here or at SMU. So suggests to me he has bigger issues.

I had a lot of expectations for a lineup with Noah and Koulibaly defensively. I thought from the Koulibaly hype and Noah's sophomore year, they could be really dynamic together. From their performances, departures, and rumors of some off court issues, I really crashed and burned on that one.

Koulibaly needs to find a spot where he can play. Maybe he's still clinging to the thought (ridiculous or not) he was potentially a "one-and-done".

Always liked getting the Canadian teams when coaching AAU. Free pool play win. They'd always come out like a house afire and then get punched a couple times and it was game over. They all thought they were Marques Haynes putting on a dribbling show. We'd just sit back in packline watching them, clamped down the dribbler when he eventually tried to penetrate, snatch it on help and take it the other way.

Only one team I recall from Canada was any good. Calgary based and I'm pretty sure they were all 19 and 20 years old while my guys were sophomores and juniors in high school.

Coached against Robert Sacre and wasn’t to impressed until I found out he was in grade 7.

Last tournament I ever coached - up against Stockton. FINALLY I was going to take him down. Decades of losing to that guy. Great squad, lots of juniors. Fresh off the state tournament playing against a bunch of freshmen.

Big kid goes OFF on us. And this lefthanded shooter (whose dad was a one year assistant at GU) lit us up from deep.

Big kid was Anton Watson.

Foiled again.
