Interesting both Nevada Reno and Cal have well known and respected basketball coaches. Steve Alford ( UCLA)and Mark Fox (Georgia) are starting new jobs and need new recruits. Will WSU with an relatively unknown and unproven coach win out?

El you were the one who said Alford was a horrible coach and had everything handed to him on a silver platter.... now he is a well respected coach?

Each school is facing a massive rebuild in their own way. I don't know how much contact Alford had will with Kuany while at UCLA, but Kuany has been looking at Nevada for awhile. I'll asssume that Smith has been on Kuany for awhile now going back to his San Fran days. Cal's assistant is Australian so I can see why Cal's in the mix. He's raw, but has a lot of potential. Isn't instant impact player, but can be very good by his junior and senior year.

This would be an excellent start for Coach Smith and staff to land this one. Whats interesting is Kuany coach at the prep school use to be EKs GA at Oregon if im not mistaken

Well Jourdan you remember the mantra i said about fellow coaches hear no evil speak no evil..etc. Well that is what is going on for Alford being "highly respected etc.". Alford was/is the most over rated coach and player that i have been aware of. Same thing observer as Smith is not even good on paper at this stage of his rather unremarkable career. But ask coaches and posters they will sing his praises Thanks for making your comments about how i really feel about Alford. I guess i should have made that clear. Smith at this point has now cleared the waste baskets of torn papers about potential recruits from the last regime. So Kuany will not be any more familiar with Smith than he is with Fox and Alford. So it will be interesting. Smith only talks about analytics and does not have film to show potential recruits. That too is interesting and amusing.

Am I missing something....aren't the majority of kids already signed, so I would think there was so crossover in available players.
