Good interview. Wants to be here, understands the challenges, embraces the positives of Pullman.

Excellent listen. Some new things revealed. Sounds like the new Director of Operations is a Nerdball expert who has worked with Smith at Columbia. Note that the guy graduated from Columbia (Ivy League) in just 2.5 years:

John Andrzejek

There will be a 3rd assistant coach hired soon. He says the paperwork is being completed. I'm guessing that coach will be the point person on recruiting and probably a younger guy. Smith revealed that he's been on the road and drove from Denver to Casper Wyoming back to Denver in one day....and it included a home visit. Another guess on my part, but maybe he was recruiting Ronnie DeGray and visiting with his family. He was also probably visiting Casper College, a JC that went 32-3 this year and averaged more than 100 ppg. He may be looking t James Hampshire, the big 7-footer that Ernie offered, although his stats were a little underwhelming (6 ppg, 5 rpg, but maybe defends the basket well?). There's a 2nd team JC all-american point guard Isaac Bonton who played freshman ball at Montana State and was a prolific scorer at Portland's Parkrose HS. Maybe he's a target, too. Anyway, lots of speculation...but it sounds like Smith is working hard at recruiting.

Yup triple my salary and i have never been to a post season tournament and lost 4/5 last games and first game in conference tournament. Time to hit the juco scrapheap i gues?. But perhaps the ole rascal has a couple of tricks up his sleeve?

Smith has been to multiple post season tournaments...4 times, in fact. Stop repeating the lie.

It’s not easy, but just put this imbecile on ignore or quit responding.
He’s an absolute jackass that is unable to think clearly, which is reflected in his ignorant babble.

What I liked about the interview: when Smith was asked what is the one thing that needs to change most dramatically for this team? his answer, unhesitatingly, was defense. A most refreshing change of perspective for our head coach.

Brandx has Bonton visiting this weekend.

Great interview. Thanks for sharing, Brent.
+1. Smith is a bit hard to follow at times but I really like his enthusiasm and belief in what he can accomplish at WSU. He seems to get it. It’s probably not going to happen overnight but give him some time to build it and I think we will enjoy what he does over time.

Shots fired when Smith said one of the players compared his game to John Wall. He's not a salesman, but he's going to push the players to get better.

Thought that part was pretty funny and Smith’s apparent response to the player.
