I saw someone report that in a press conference, Clay McGuire said it’ll be a handful of offensive coaches calling plays, but that they’ll give Cam Ward the keys to run the show since he has more experience in this particular offense than any of the coaches. It sounded like Joel Filani may be the primary play caller.Who’s going to be calling plays? I actually feel a little better with Morris not calling 15 tunnel screens.
No one is giving up their Pac 12 QB spot for North Texas.I just hope both teams have fun.
If there were a prediction thread to be had, it would be does Cam enter the portal after the game to follow Morris?
LOL no. No one is giving up their Pac 12 QB spot for North Texas.
I don't know anything about North Texas but my guess is they have an even smaller NIL purse than WSU has.I can think of 2 reasons.
1) More NIL $.
2) Staying in the same system and not learning a new scheme or terminology.
Otherwise I would tend to agree with you.

As for scheme, Dickert says he intends to stay within the air raid tree.
Unfortunately... I think you're right. We aren't a good enough team to have best players sit out and/or transferNot expecting a close game, but I hope I'm wrong.
WSU 20
Fresno 44
God rolls outta bed tomorrow, dons a Coug hat and hoodie, gives a hearty "Go Cougs", and Wazzu rolls to a 41-24 win.
I just hope both teams have fun.

If North Texas has oil $, what are they doing hiring Morris? If North Texas has oil $ then their NIL purse laughs at WSU.
It is possible to have a similar scheme but different terminology, expectations, fit with coaching staff, etc.
If North Texas has oil $, what are they doing hiring Morris?
Glad Cougar
This O line is not capable of 8 wins next year. They can’t run block very well.He can't, Cam already used up his portal transfer when he transfered from Incarnate Word to WSU.
He technically can, could, but he would have to sit out for a year, according to the rules.
And Cam's NIL deal probably has a provision against transfer.
And Cam didn't do good enough to transfer, sit out a year, AND still be a starter.
Cam will still likely be the starter here at WSU, still has a awesome NIL deal here at WSU, and is likely to improve, get better QB coach, coaching, development, OC play calling, and with everything WSU has, WSU Cam probably still wins 8,9,10,11,12 games next season.
Cam would have to either be stupid, or get a way the hell better NIL deal to transfer.
Cam is NOT BLOODY DAMN LIKELY transferring.
NOT GONA HAPPEN.

Jesus. Reminder to self: when watching a game like this, never hit the “show ignored content” button.Someone is not very aware of the improvement factor.
This OL is NOT very experienced. They are mostly EITHER freshmen, sophomores, with little to no experience mixed in with 1 junior, 1 senior, that have little real game playing time, etc.
Also the YOUNG, INEXPERIENCED, etc, OL, has had a lot of INJURIES, and is CURRENTLY BANGED UP, INJURED, and held together by BANDAGES, and DUCT TAPE.
And Kingston, who really is good, and would really help, is also INJURED, OUT.
There may be equally, or more banged up, injured, etc, O Lines in College Footballdom, that are doing ok, but they are the ALABAMA TYPES, not the WSU types.
Also Clay has been a TERRIBLY BAD OL COACH.
BECAUSE OF ALL THE ABOVE, this year's OL, will be improved, better, more experienced, weathered, hardened, etc, NEXT YEAR, NEXT SEASON, then this year's line.
Also college players improve most, their going from freshmen, SOPHMORE years to Junior, Senior years.
Also if improvement didn't happen, then during the Mike Price years, after the 3-8 years when WSU, Price would have a bad O Line, like this year's O Line, WSU, Price, wouldn't have gone 8-3 the next year, next season, etc, if his BAD O Line hadn't improved.
I know this improvement doesn't always happen, like with Paul WULF's O Line.
But that O Line was EPICALLY BAD, getting beat 69-0, and going 1-11 for the season, instead of, compared to this season's O Line, that tho had the defense, still technically won 7 games, instead of only 1 game, didn't get beat 69-0, and helped have good performances at times, like the 52 to 14 BLOW OUT of PAC 12 STANFORD.
The reason why WULF's line didn't improve, is that it was a BIG SKY level O Line. And that line was for the most part, a uninjured, unbanged up line, so it was not injuries, but rather the players, that weren't very good, and were UNLIKELY to improve.
Another reason was the DEPTH was terrible.
But Dickert's O line players are better, and therefore more likely to Improve, and they were injured, but despite that, still put up 52 vs Stanford, and 40+ vs Oregon.
So because of that Dickert's O Line is LIKELY to improve.
Also Dickert got BOTH 1 JC OL, and 1 non JC, Transfer Portal OL, that look good, and between that, and Kingston, and Stephen, and the rest of the OL that will probably improve, next season's OL will probably be better, just fine, ok, etc, and probably good enough to get 8,9,10,11, etc, wins, next season, provided Cam also improves, OR Mateer does good, OR WSU gets a GOOD Transfer QB, and provided that WSU gets a good WR, and at least 1 GOOD LB, to replace losing all 3 of Henly, Travion Brown, Fred Magoa.
