Larry Scott says "let them eat cake"

The fact that the Presidents and AD are meeting this week, in tandem, is not good for Larry.

Tells me that the Presidents are likely to support their AD's looking at the Pac-12 books.

Limo Larry is pretty embattled and I can't image how much continued support this kind of behavior will get. Also, the WSU Regents approved a level of spending that was based on a level of support from the Pac-12. Schultz can't ignore that side of the equation.

Utah athletic director Chris Hill, dissatisfied with revenue, pressed Scott on the financials of the conference. He was cut off by the commissioner at the knees, according to others in the room.

Scott sniped: “You’re lucky for what you get.”

Larry is in big trouble. I don't have a problem with the $7500 a night suite, it was probably a comp deal anyway, or at a deeply discounted rate, with all the money the Pac 12 is spending on rooms there next week I am sure Larry got this on cheap and isn't paying $7500 a night. If he is paying that much, he's a bigger fool than I thought he was, plus I am sure the President's of the universities needed a quiet place to talk to Larry.

Optics are kind of bad to accept a $7,500/night room for official business, even if comped.

Pay for a room at a fans rate, show that as a receipt. Put the comped room under a friend's name and say you were invited to stay with that person.

He doesn't really seem to "get it" and i think he thinks he's a hot shot network executive instead of the head of an athletic conference.

Well, we all must admit that given the quality of Pac-12 Basketball this year, the former is probably closer to the truth than the latter.....just sayin'
