Leach Cameo

My company had our annual company celebration yesterday afternoon. We normally send a little over half of the employees in the company to one of the cities in our operational footprint but this year was remote courtesy of COVID. One of the things that the company does as part of that celebration is to hold an awards show. Ridiculously high production values, goofy videos to introduce the awards and generally a lot of fun. A new twist this year was that they paid for cameos to introduce the winners for each category. One of the awards was given to a guy in Mississippi who went to Mississippi State, so the award presenter cameo for that category was Mike Leach. Pretty damned weird for me to see Leach doing that.

My office was selected as the "Office of the Year" so they had Kate Flannery from "The Office" make the announcement. Emmitt Smith made the announcement for one of the awards that went to one of the Dallas offices. Pretty good twist this year but it was weird seeing Leach yelling "Hail State".

Oh damn! I just saw a true crime episode featuring her. Her husband disappeared in 97...and a lot of people close to the situation says she had something to do with it.

I'm with you- our annual conference ended today. It would have been 5 days in Phoenix with dozens of dinners, parties and receptions, but instead it was on my computer screen. And Leach and Baskins were conspicuously absent!
