I have so many that I will share if this thread takes off. But my first is sitting in the Coug at the window with a couple of buddies. Across the street this gal at the Chi Omega house on the upper floor is changing her clothes. She got down to bra and panties, then looked out the window and saw us staring at her. Needless to say the curtains closed immediately. Pretty funny.

alright I’m game. We had a cool triplex on Rudy, there was a roof overhang on our floor, the top floor that was easily accessible from the entrance. Big enough for a couple of people… I always joked w my roommate it would be badass to bring a lady up to the roof and, you know… Never did. Well, move out weekend 2002 after graduating, shakers called. Next thing you know I’ve got a gal on the roof with me my last night in Pullman. It was a very “American Pie” moment and the smile was a little bigger pulling the UHaul out of town that next day.

So many memories in 5 years. An early one that stands out is the “Marinovich game” vs USC. My first WSU game. Another is watching Metallica tune their own instruments and jam out prior to their concert at Beasley (I worked in the building).

I was at the Marijuanavich game. Gawd the place was the most full I've ever seen it, electric atmosphere, that missed int by whoever would have clinched it. When FUSC scored that last TD you could have heard a pin drop.

I was there too. It was the first time I sat in the stands for a few minutes after the final gun just going “WTF?”

It was not the last.

Yeah, how about the ASU game in I think 1988? Down by 3, first and goal on about the 8, some time on the clock and I think a timeout or two. Worst case scenario is kick a field goal for a tie (back when we had those). Rosenbach rolls out right, could have run it into the endzone or gained a few yards at least and gone out of bounds. Instead, he throws it across his body for an end zone interception.

Well for a thread supposed to be about our best times, I now have recounted basically two of my worst. Huh.

One time at band camp

In December 1989, three friends and I were walking back from Greek Row at around midnight and we saw a pizza delivery driver in front of the Bookie on a payphone. As we approached, he slammed the phone receiver and started cussing. We asked what happened and he said that someone prank called the pizza place and he was stuck with the stupid pizza. We bought the pizza off of him for $5 and ate it in front of the Bookie. With a pretty good buzz going and 20 degree temperatures, it was the best pizza I've had in my entire life.

If it was pizza perfection you paid $5 for a $3 pizza. Everyone goes home happy.

Lucked into a similar situation once. Down in the bottom of Gannon, i think I was dumping garbage when the Domino’s driver pulled in. Whoever he was looking for wasn’t there. Those were the days of the 30-minute guarantee, and he had other deliveries. When the other guy didn’t show up in about 2 minutes I got a $4 pizza (all I had on me). On my way back up the stairs, I’m pretty sure I passed the intended recipient running down. I’m sure my 18-year old self enjoyed my ill-gotten dinner, but that’s probably about the last time I had Domino’s.

Well I did do a head first Pete Rose slide into 2nd base during a Mariners game in 2001...oh wait... that doesn't count.

Best memory was 97 Apple Cup. I snuck into the game with the help of my sister. The ticket I bought at the stadium didn't work because they asked for my UW student ID number.

Anyways, best memory.. Caught the football on the final pat when UW scored at the end of the game.

Was going to give it to my brother for Christmas but when I charged the field, a security guard was chasing me. I should have told him to pound sand.

Then I get back to school and all my friends were saying dude...you are on the front page of the News Tribune.

Wish I still had that football though

I would personally say the Snow Bowl is probably up there with good memories. Not only crazy game, but crazy weekend of parties and celebrating.

I went home for Thanksgiving after the game and missed the weekend, but it was easily the most memorable game of my Pullman tenure and I got paid to watch it from the field. So yeah…that’s up there.

One of the very two strangest experiences in my life occured at WSU. After my soph years I took 6 months to backpack in Europe. One day I checked into a yout hostel in Copenhagen. As I getting redy for bed I noticed a young man, blond hair and blonde-reddish beard on the next bunk and looking distraught.

Ooops, continued..
He had a letter in his hand. I aked him if he was OK, and he answered in English he was not. As we spoke he said the letter was from his girlfriend and she was breaking up with him. As we introduced ourselves he said he was from Seattle, and he and his girl were students at WSU. I said, WOW... me too. He showed me her picture and also mentioned her name and who she was now seeing. He and I travelled together for a few weeks and then headed in different directions.
Next January I am back at WSU living in Chief Joe. One day there was a knock at the door and an old friend, Ty Paine, was there and asking if he could crash until he could finding a place. Jim Sweeney had offered him a coaching position. Ty had been drafted by the Giants in '73, and pre-season traded to the Bears, who decided to go with him as their third QB until Dick Butkus was injured that year (and did not play again) so Chicago cut Ty and added another LB.
So here it is... I get up one Saturday morning. Ty is still on the floor in the living room and I notice another person under the covers. She eventually sat up and said hello.
And yes, they were the two people the young guy in Copenhagen had told me about.

Small world indeed

A young lady at Thetas took off the bra while my pledge brothers and I were locked in sleeping porch waiting for initiation to begin.
