Making sense of the Coug Raid

I used the Gordo team simply because of recency bias and similar records. Not sure how much you can extract from that info other than we passed a lot more and rushed a lot less, though we were more effective at both.

I'm curious of someone has the stat that tracks the number of clean pockets Cam has had this year. Watching the Mich/OSU game this weekend and how their lines created picture perfect pockets, then watching 3 and 4 DL create havoc running a simple twist was a blunt reminder of how poor our OL play has been this year. I've given Cam a lot of deserved criticism which I stand by, but he is managing a broken blocking scheme nearly every play.

I think it might be a broken passing scheme. The ball should be coming out faster a little bit more of the time.

Well, my first thought is that the WR screens aren't nearly as productive, but I'm not sure if that would be an accurate statement. We did have some go for 4+ yards, but I don't feel like we had as many 10+ yarders as in the past.

The lack of a mesh concept, which I understood to be a cornerstone of the AR scheme, was noticable as well. Gordo made his money off of it in the red zone. However, a mesh route isn't much good if the qb is scrambling and/ or has poor field vision anyway.
